Hey Network, I am excited to share my wonderful experience with Buddy Ed. In the "Flying Innovator Competition" organized by BuddyEd.com, participants engaged in designing sustainable air travel solutions within the Aerospace Industry. The experience focused on career exploration in aerospace engineering, providing a hands-on opportunity to create eco-friendly aircraft designs and address environmental challenges. Participants developed transferable engineering skills, received industry guidance, and had the chance to showcase their designs, enhancing their understanding of sustainable aviation concepts and industry applications. My contributions in environmental engineering involved researching sustainable aviation, identifying environmental challenges, and proposing eco-friendly solutions. I integrated technology and materials to design a sustainable air travel concept, emphasizing eco-conscious choices. I created a novel design for sustainable air travel applying my ability to visualise and plan complex structures. I applied design principles including functionality, sustainability, efficiency, and accessibility with my teammates Milana Berhe and Edisia Rodrigues The iterative process considered environmental impact, and the final design was communicated through drawings or 3D prototypes, aligning with principles of environmental sustainability in the aerospace industry. This also provided a valuable networking opportunity, allowing me to interact with prior professionals in the Chemical Engineering sector who are now the founders of the educational website that contributes to fulfilling people’s educational potential. Engaging in discussions about career progression and the pros and cons of respective fields expanded my information of how to applicate engineering to current problems. Gabriela Gosnell López and Fiadhnaid Lydon helped guide me in not only completing the flight innovators programme, improving my understanding of different engineering fields. Overall, it was an enlightening experience that broadened my perspective on potential areas of interest in the engineering within the engineering profession.

Feeling joyful to share this... Engineering has long been associated with precision, logical thinking, and problem-solving. It's a field where math and science rule the day. However, there's another critical aspect of engineering that often goes underappreciated: creativity and innovation. Creativity is often thought of as the realm of artists, writers, and musicians, but it is equally crucial in engineering. At its core, engineering is about finding novel solutions to complex problems. This requires thinking beyond established norms and pushing boundaries. The innovative minds of engineers have given us everything from the Eiffel Tower's awe-inspiring design to the sleek and efficient Tesla electric cars. These creations are a testament to how creativity can transform engineering projects into something more than functional designs; they become works of art in their own right. In engineering, design is at the heart of every project. It's here that creativity truly shines. The design phase is where engineers envision how a project will look, feel, and function. The aesthetics, user experience, and overall appeal of a product are shaped during this phase. One of the defining characteristics of engineers is their ability to solve problems. While the process may appear analytical, creative thinking often plays a significant role in problem-solving. Engineers need to think "outside the box" to devise innovative solutions. Innovation is the fuel that propels engineering forward. It's about discovering new ways of doing things, making processes more efficient, and constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible. Innovation leads to game-changing inventions, such as the Internet, electric cars, and renewable energy sources. As we look ahead, the importance of creativity and innovation in engineering will only grow. The challenges we face, from climate change to global health crises, require imaginative solutions. Engineers will play a pivotal role in designing sustainable infrastructure, developing clean energy solutions, and addressing the complex problems of our time. The engineers of today and tomorrow must continue to embrace creativity as a driving force, alongside their technical expertise. In this way, engineering can reach new heights, tackle the world's most pressing issues, and leave a lasting legacy of progress and innovation for generations to come.
