America's classrooms are facing a critical teacher shortage. In Massachusetts, the shortage is especially acute, with 57% of schools reporting unfilled teaching vacancies, 10% higher than the national average. Something must be done to recruit talented, highly trained individuals to help grow the teaching profession. Educators Rising is a program dedicated to growing young future educators starting as early as middle school. Through our Grow Your Own educator pathway, we can prepare students for their new careers earlier and keep them local once they enter the workforce, since 60% of all teachers teach within 20 miles of where they went to school. We work with schools to establish chapters and curriculum, giving students early exposure to a host of education career options. In turn, districts hire their students back after they’ve earned their teaching credentials. You can be a part of making this happen for young people in Massachusetts. 70 years ago today the U.S. Supreme Court struck down separate but equal schooling, ruling racial segregation in public schools unconstitutional. About a generation of students attended integrated schools, but now public schools are again mostly segregated. If the goal is to equip students with tools to adjust to life after school in more diverse workplaces, how do we find education equity? #Brownspromise is the mission of the non-profit #SouthernEducationFoundation. https://lnkd.in/e3j7rvcc

#GivingTuesday is here and we need your help to reach our goal of $125,000! There's never been a better time to give - every dollar donated until we reach our goal is being matched. Last year, you helped us to raise over $117,000 to enroll more students and implement new initiatives. Since 2017, PVD Promise has grown to serve 1,300 students from 700 #Providence families. Students have saved $2.36M in college savings accounts toward their future education. Last fiscal year (July 1, 2023 - June 30, 2024), we hosted 110 programs for 2,600 students, not including our robust Youth Mentorship Program and on-going advising meetings. We also provided $310,000 in "Early Scholarships" directly to students' savings accounts for positive, educational activities. We've grown our Youth Mentorship Program to now serve 40 middle and high school students, implemented a new Alumni Program to help students who have graduated high school persist through their post-secondary program, and much more. Providence Promise is changing the narrative for hundreds of local families by encouraging early financial planning, preparation, and conversations regarding education after high school. Double your impact today at the link below and help us transform access to higher education for 1,300 youth in Providence, RI: https://lnkd.in/eZ3mjfSu. #highereducation #highereducationforall #educationalaccess #accessmatters #providence #rhodeisland #providenceri

HOW IS CAMDEN’S INNOVATIVE SCHOOL SYSTEM MOVING THE NEEDLE FOR NEW JERSEY STUDENTS? “Amid all the bad news in the post-pandemic public education sphere, there is a bright spot in a surprising city, Camden, New Jersey. There, students, while suffering steep learning losses so common in low-income districts, are finding their way forward through the collaboration of three different public school sectors: district, charter, and an unusual hybrid called “renaissance schools.” These renaissance schools, authorized by a law that let Camden approve partnerships with high-performing, nonprofit charter school networks willing to take on the lowest-performing schools, are driving the city’s learning gains. As such, the story of Camden’s “comeback,” described in a new report by Camden Education Fund, provides a blueprint for an innovative model of public education, not just in New Jersey but throughout the country.” Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gNxe-PTB #schooldistricts #education #renaissanceschools

At Nyakabaare Primary School, teacher housing is more than just shelter—it’s the foundation of a stable, thriving school community. Thanks to a $15,000 grant, we’ve made a strong start, but we still need to raise $10,000 to complete this transformative project. We’ve seen the impact firsthand. At another school we supported, teacher housing reduced absenteeism from 40% to just 5%. The result? Happier teachers, stronger classrooms, and students who thrive. Now it’s Nyakabaare’s turn to experience this incredible change. 📚 Your donation can make it happen: ➡ Teachers can live on-site, providing steady, reliable support to their students. ➡ Students benefit from consistent instruction, leading to improved confidence and exam results. ➡ The entire community becomes stronger, more hopeful, and better equipped for the future. 💙 Be the final piece of this transformation. Every dollar counts, and your generosity will create lasting change for teachers, students, and the entire community: https://lnkd.in/gt3R9rj7 #EducationMatters #SupportTeachers #AfricaStrong #DonateToday #TransformLives
