While I'm not a fan of SFTP integrations, they remain a tool we need to be familiar with as some applications still offer this as their means of integration. We just published a guide on automating CSV file creation using Make , showcasing how we can still embrace older methods within modern workflows. Check out the blog for detailed steps from data retrieval to CSV structuring—it's all about making the necessary tools work to get the outcome we need. https://lnkd.in/eeTw9Z8x

On May 21, we're updating how our client libraries and APIs handle the `display_factor` and `unit_of_measure_qty` fields in our definition schema. These values are encoded in fixed-point integer format by default, but they can now be deserialized or converted into decimals using Databento's `pretty_px` or `price_type' parameters. Fixed-point integers are explicitly scaled by a factor of 1e9 (e.g., 1250000000), whereas decimal representations are implicitly scaled by 1/1e9 (1.25). Data migration is often oversold and underdelivered, and to be fair is a nightmare to quote on the vendor side One of the cool things about working at a Product/Retention focused company is that for many years you might do things ad hoc but then things reach a certain scale and one day (maybe not so much for the people who actually develop this stuff) you can actually deliver better outcomes both internally and externally So grateful to work alongside people with actual technical chops and a CAN DO attitude #GSDit #enterprisesoftware #ITSM #speedtovalue

There is no black magic to storing events in an event sourcing approach. Event stores built on top of relational databases do it very similarly. There's a json or jsonb column for storing data. There's a json or jsonb column for storing metadata. There is some concept of storing streams. Usually it's an additional column in the table that stores events. In #RailsEventStore it is a separate table. Can you guess why btw? Together with Tomek Stolarczyk we discuss more details in our latest video.
