Next week, during the 30th Annual Labor Assistance Professionals Conference, our very own Dr. Boris, Rob Schwarz, and Sean McGowan will present their expertise in addiction and recovery. Their presentation, "The Power of Belief—The Scientific and Spiritual Evidence of Why the 12-Step Process Works," will cover several topics. It will demonstrate the scientific evidence of the 12-step effectiveness and discuss the theory behind its impact on the neurobiology of addiction. Attendees will understand the spiritual and life changes that occur through AA, follow a journey through recovery, and learn the pathway from transition to care recovery and return to work. They will also understand the critical importance of compliance with aftercare.

Holistic Psychotherapist | Host of Psychedelic Conversations Podcast | RESET Microdosing Integration Program
While we further our citizen's science endorsed by Dr. Fadiman, I’ve gone over many research papers regarding the studies available up to date on the topic of micro-dosing psychedelics for therapeutic purposes. Considering that neuroplasticity plays a vital role in the therapeutic response of psychiatric patients, this study on the effects of micro-dosing LSD on BDNF levels in the brain has felt monumental for our cause. Within this study, it took as little as 5ug of LSD to significantly increase BDNF levels within just a 6-hour window. However, levels indicate that the peak of some doses could still be well after the 6-hour window, leaving much room for further studies of this revolutionary interaction. This increase in BDNF indicates significant benefits for improved neuroplasticity, showing us that LSD in low doses has a lot of therapeutic potential in treating mood-related disorders. For an interesting read in the psychedelic space, take a look at this study and let me know what you think about it. https://lnkd.in/erhiCZAU #microdosing #psychedelics #LSD #neuroplasticity #psychedelicscience #BDNF #neurogenesis #psychedelictherapy #DrJamesFadiman #ResetMicrodosingProgram

In an enlightening interview with Dr. Worden, we delve into the critical role of comprehending the neurobiological underpinnings of addiction in shaping effective prevention and treatment strategies. Chronic drug use disrupts the brain's neurotransmitter systems, resulting in: - Dysregulated natural reward processing. - Compromised impulse control and decision-making. - Heightened stress responses. Understanding addiction's science, encompassing its neurobiological changes and pathways to recovery is paramount for developing evidence-backed interventions. Despite its challenges, ongoing research advancements and improved access to comprehensive treatment services offer hope for those on the journey to recovery. By addressing addiction's underlying brain mechanisms and fostering long-term support, we can mitigate its profound impact on individuals, families, and communities. Panic attacks are frequently seen happening with other disorders and can even occur sometimes in the lifetime of an otherwise healthy person. The difference in persons with "panic disorder" is the presence of heightened anxiety in-between panic attacks, frequently leading to avoidance of situations that may trigger embarrassment or may not be easy to escape from. Neuroscience has told us a lot about this particular disorder, and current evidence points to dysfunctional serotonin-opioid neuronal interactions within specific areas of the brain -- this helps because it guides us to specific medications that can target these areas, and specific therapy that too seems to modulate these areas.
