I can melt Rocks by #Negotiation
As I return from another fruitful #Gulfood trade show, I'm reminded of the incredible power of negotiation. When done right, a negotiation has the ability to break down even the toughest barriers between people to uncover win-win solutions.
I had several insightful business meetings with partners old and new at Gulfood these days.
Through open and thoughtful negotiation focused on understanding all sides, we were able to find common ground and creative ways to meet the needs of both parties.
My discussions with potential new suppliers and buyers of basic food commodities like #Sugar & #EdibleOils were particularly impactful.
When we began, it seemed our positions were miles apart on issues like pricing, delivery terms, payment terms, and quality control.
However, by actively listening, asking thoughtful questions, and looking for shared interests rather than just stating positions, we uncovered simple but clever ways to bridge the gaps.
Both sides felt heard and valued, paving the way for innovative long-term partnerships.
At the end, handshakes and smiles had melted away the initial tensions. This experiences are perfect examples of how savvy negotiation and #Emotional #Intelligence can break down even the toughest barriers and clear a path to ethical, sustainable business growth.
Approaching negotiations this way requires ample Cultural Knowledge, and huge amount of patience and empathy, but the rewards for all make it worthwhile.
I'm thankful for events like Gulfood that bring people together across countries and cultures to find common ground.
Through the simple but profound act of negotiating ethically, I continue to find inspiration that we have more that unites than divides us in business and in life.
