#Throw back to time when our #chain #slings were used as part of this #exciting Airbus helicopter testing operation! In this project, the helicopter was tasked with lifting and transporting a specialised testing pod, designed to simulate real-world conditions for future air operations. The pod, seen here suspended from the helicopter, was lifted to test load-bearing capacity and aerial maneuverability—critical elements for future airborne transport and rescue missions. Our heavy-duty chain slings provided the strength, stability, and safety needed to secure and transport the load smoothly. With their robust design, our chain slings ensure that operations like this are conducted with the highest levels of #safety and #efficiency, proving themselves invaluable in complex environments where precision is key. Check out our chain slings range here: https://hubs.ly/Q02VQbnf0 #Throwback #TBT #Helicopter #Lifting #AerialTesting #Chain #Sling #Power #HeavyLifting #AirTransport #Safety #Reliability #MaterialHandling #AviationEngineering #pewag

How will ClearVision EFVS enhance the safety of aerial firefighting and special mission operations? Universal Avionics, in partnership with Global Aviation Tech LLC, has secured an Federal Aviation Administration Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for its ClearVision™ Enhanced Flight Vision System (EFVS) on Beechcraft King Air B200/300 aircraft. This cutting-edge technology features the SkyLens™ Head-Wearable Display (HWD), combining enhanced vision (EVS) and synthetic 3D terrain (SVS) to display critical real-time data directly onto the pilot’s natural field of vision. With improved situational awareness in low-visibility conditions, ClearVision EFVS boosts operational confidence for pilots engaged in demanding missions like aerial firefighting and emergency medical services. Linwood "Woody" Cottner, Vice President at Global Aviation Tech, expressed excitement about this advancement, highlighting its importance for safety in challenging environments. What impact do you think ClearVision will have on the future of mission-critical aviation? How are smaller #uncrewed #aircraft systems offering the same performance impact as large #UAS in highly contested environments? Today's battlefield presents a greater need for adaptability, delivering convenience and flexibility with a much smaller logistics footprint. “There is a growing need for a single, highly flexible UAS that can meet the needs at all echelons, from the company level to the brigade,” said Allen Gardner, CTO of Edge Autonomy. With years of deployed operations and hundreds of thousands of flight hours accross six continents, our UAS solutions provide the warfighter with field-proven systems ready to face any mission challenge. Through a major performance enhancement to our #VXE30 #Stalker through a series of subsystem upgrades – known collectively as the “Havoc” configuration – we have more than doubled the flight endurance and payload capacity of the base VXE30 Stalker system. With the integration of beyond line of sight (BLOS) capabilities, the #Havoc is able to perform roles previously executed by larger aircraft. The smaller and more efficient configuration allows one or two operators to carry out all system logistics – from transportation to assembly to launch – in less than 15 minutes and provide persistent #ISR coverage from up to 500km away. Sound interesting? Learn more about the Havoc and its capabilities: https://bit.ly/3Af3tpo #ItsWhatsNext #ProvenSolutions #EdgeInnovations

On the Quest to be Reasonably Informed: Recognition of Risk-Based Design in UAS 📝 "In the context (and context is everything here) of an un-certified uncrewed system that operates via satellite communication links, beyond visual range, and above the cruising altitude of commercial aircraft, the solution to the BAF UAS aviation safety problem has heretofore been to mobilise the full weight of Defence’s aviation safety system. ... We are entirely capable. We just need to decide to do it." 🖋️ Josh Vicino Read here: https://lnkd.in/gq_fWT98

The Critical Importance of Pilot Ejection Systems in Aviation Safety In high-performance aircraft, particularly fighter jets, pilots operate in extreme conditions where decisions must be made in fractions of a second. One of the most important life-saving systems onboard these aircraft is the ejection seat—a crucial technology designed to give the pilot a second chance when the situation becomes uncontrollable. When an aircraft encounters catastrophic failure—be it engine failure, loss of control, or a threat to structural integrity—ejection from the cockpit becomes the last resort to save the pilot’s life. Upon activation, a series of events occur in rapid succession: Canopy Detonation or Removal: The aircraft’s canopy is either shattered or blown away. Rocket-Propelled Ejection Seat: The ejection seat is propelled away from the aircraft by a rocket or gas-powered system, launching the pilot clear of the danger zone. Automatic Parachute Deployment: Once clear, the seat automatically separates, and the parachute is deployed to ensure a controlled descent. Why are safety measures so vital in this process? Correct Timing: Ejecting too early or too late can jeopardize the pilot’s safety. Timing mechanisms and sensors ensure safe operation within milliseconds. Protection from High G-Forces: Ejection subjects the pilot to extreme G-forces. Advanced designs incorporate restraints and padding to minimize injury during the process. Post-Ejection Survival Gear: In high-altitude ejections, pilots rely on oxygen masks and thermal gear to survive the harsh environment before parachute deployment. The ejection seat is one of the most significant innovations in aviation safety, allowing pilots to escape life-threatening situations. While ejection is the last resort, the technology is a crucial safeguard for pilots worldwide, ensuring they can return to their families and continue their mission in the future. To all experienced fighter pilots out there, do you have any personal stories or insights about ejecting from the cockpit? We'd love to hear your experiences and lessons learned!
