What does intention sound like, look like, feel like? This. Too many people think that the important KPI (Key Performance Indicator) is all metrics and spreadsheets, dry stats. Nope. The #1 KPI is Human Connection. Do you feel seen, valued, heard? Do you welcome and want all people - I mean ALL - at your table? Are you focused on fostering a culture of belonging? The video below is a prime example of intention in action. All of the good humans in the room we're brought together by the brilliance and simplicity of the Northstar Meetings Group to match make hospitality and properties. There are a LOT of tendrils of impact and people who are related beyond those two arenas (people like, you know, professional speakers like me and Candy Campbell who both keynoted last week). The curated, invite, vetted and intention that was on display and inaction was impressive to me. I'd long heard about 'hosted buyer' events - and I think my bar was set to HIGH with this one! Michael Shapiro, Samantha Hammer, James Antaky Nicole Goddeyne, SDLT + made is well-run, well-run. They made being the opening keynote speaker on the last day smooth, easy and extra fun! Props to the AV team at the Paséa Hotel & Spa - Raymond, Paul(surfs up!), Kyle, Peter & the Service team providing delicious food and beverage service. Events will be memorable - in some way. Utilize the precious energy you have to channel it positively, enthusiastically with the intention of connecting people. It takes a village of people to create a true space of belonging, and it all starts with 1 person. So, what's your KPI? If it's a number, you're doing it wrong. if it's one person at a time, fostering the beautiful belonging we all so deeply crave, then you're doing it right. Make your KPI = ROC - Return On Connection - and you'll take care of people, place and planet all the better.
