People are now more interested in podcasts than blogs, but there is one big problem. There are roughly 1 billion blogs on the web, while only 4.3 million podcasts exist. There aren’t as many options for people to choose from when it comes to podcasts. So, if you want a leg up, consider creating a podcast. Best of all, it’s not hard to make it popular… there aren’t as many competitors, so naturally, you will pick up listens even if you don’t have a marketing bone in your body.

I completely agree with you that podcasts are becoming more popular than blogs. It's interesting to note that the number of podcasts is significantly lower than the number of blogs, which means there is a huge opportunity for content creators to tap into this growing market.
