We handed the mic to Tyler, William, and Ollie - three ambitious members of our Vextrix and Struktura Engineering Services teams, each at a different stage in their #Apprenticeship - to learn what they would do if they could map their career path and mould our industry to their liking. This video is part I of II; next we dive into two individual stories to pose the intriguing question, "How well do you know your Apprentices?” Watch this space. St Andrew's High School Worthing Futures Fair was last week on 9th September and while I couldn’t attend as Enterprise Advisor this time, I’ve heard such great things from those who were there so I wanted to share.... The turnout was fantastic, with students and parents engaging in important conversations about what’s next after school. Interestingly, it was the parents who sought the most guidance—questions about application timelines, qualification levels, and future opportunities were top of mind. Here are some helpful resources that were highlighted during the fair, especially for parents and students who may be feeling a little lost in the sea of options: 📌 Apprenticeships: Learn more about apprenticeships and how they can be an excellent alternative to traditional pathways here - https://lnkd.in/eSrH8puw 📌 T Levels: Find out more about these exciting qualifications that combine classroom learning with industry placement, perfect for those interested in technical careers here. https://lnkd.in/e2Ng8e59 📌 Engineering & Technical Apprenticeships: For those interested in a future in engineering, this is a great resource to explore here. https://lnkd.in/ePh5vRwK 📌 What Next Guide for Parents: A fantastic booklet providing guidance on the many options available after school—perfect for parents who want to understand all the possibilities here. https://lnkd.in/ec2pUb9n It was clear from the feedback that the earlier parents are equipped with this knowledge, the better! Having the right information at the right time can make all the difference in shaping a young person’s career path. For business leaders, it’s also a reminder of the importance of early engagement with the next generation of talent. These students are tomorrow’s workforce, and helping them navigate their options now could bring fresh energy and ideas into your business in the future. Hat's off to Penny Daly for always being a superb driving force in the future of our young people and for her work on the night! #Careers #FuturesFair #EducationAndIndustry #NextGeneration #Apprenticeships #TLevels #Engineering #FutureTalent

University of California at Berkeley, Director of Transfer Alliance Project/Community College Transfer Services
Happy National Transfer Student Week! Did you know that there’s a week dedicated to celebrating the of skills, knowledge, and perspectives that transfer students bring to our campuses. This year’s theme is “Unlocking Potential: Keys to the Transfer Journey.” What if we take this theme a step further and consider the skills, knowledge, and perspectives that transfer students bring to not only our campuses but also our research labs, graduate programs, internships and full-time roles? What if we take it a step even further to commit to raising awareness and investing in transfer outreach programs that promote transfer student success and belonging. Transfer students are a phenomenal pool of talent and if you’re just as committed to unlocking that potential let’s work together to provide support and opportunities for transfer students. We know they have the potential let’s work together to help them unlock it. #Transferstudentweek #Berkeley #UCTransferprep #transferandproud

Head of People and Culture @Carbon3 | Employer Ambassador with South East Apprenticeships Ambassador Network (SEAAN) | HR Strategy and Implementation | Assoc CIPD | Assoc IoD | HR Ninja 🥷
As I’m sat here doing some prep work to welcome our 2024 cohort of apprentices at Carbon3, I’ve just taken a moment to reflect on our recruitment strategy. Questions we’ve asked ourselves before committing to our plan: - are we committed to investing in the growth of entry-level talent? - Or are we simply looking for someone at an entry-level salary? These two approaches come with very different outcomes. At Carbon3, we’re proud advocates of apprenticeships—many of our team members began their careers this way. We understand that apprentices may not immediately deliver at full capacity, but with the right support, guidance, and time, they can grow into some of the most dedicated and high-performing members of the team. For those who recently completed their A-levels and didn’t get the grades you were hoping for, apprenticeships can be a fantastic option. Apprenticeships offer a pathway to gain valuable experience, earn a salary, and develop skills that will set you up for long-term success in your career. Our commitment to apprentices doesn’t end with hiring. We ensure every apprentice has a clear learning and development plan, supported by quarterly reviews to track progress and provide ongoing mentorship. This ensures they have the tools and encouragement needed to thrive, making apprenticeships a key part of building our future talent. As we gear up for the 2024 intake, we’re excited to continue nurturing and training the next generation of skilled professionals at CARBON3. If you or someone you know is interested to learn more about our apprenticeship program, please feel free to reach out. #Apprenticeship #RenewableEnergy #Carbon3 #SolarPV #ASHP #InvestingInOurPeople
