🔬A preprint of our article entitled “PARK7/DJ-1 deficiency impairs microglial activation in response to LPS-induced inflammation” is now available online 👇 We found that microglia from DJ-1 KO mice display a distinct phenotype related to type II interferon and a diminished response to LPS-induced inflammation compared to wildtype microglia. These transcriptional changes were also found in human DJ-1 deficient iPSC-derived microglia. Furthermore, distinct morphological changes were found in the cortex of DJ-1 KO mice, collectively showing that the lack of DJ-1 affects microglial neuroinflammatory responses, which may play a causative role in PD onset and progression. This was a joint effort between researchers from University of Luxembourg Luxembourg Institute of Health and Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) - University of Luxembourg https://lnkd.in/eWAiKZMJ

"Impressive science that will make a difference in the future" — a conclusion drawn by a participant reflecting on the content at CNAPS 2024 last week. And we couldn't agree more. This academic conference brought together a notable number of prominent scientists and figures from the field of liquid biopsies. The substantial amount of unpublished data reflected a sharing culture and collaborative spirit among this community. Moreover, it underscores our common commitment to tackling unmet medical needs through collaborative research. As we summarize the content, we can confirm that ultrasensitive analysis of ctDNA is undeniably a crucial piece in this puzzle. 🔥
