🚨 We’ve got a Guest House 🏠 🤩 ⚠️ Warning: Long post ahead! Time to fill you in on what we’ve been up to behind the scenes. 👀 Taking on a guest house has been a whirlwind of creativity, hard work, and more late nights than we can count. When we first stepped in, it was clear the place hadn’t been shown much love in a long time. The décor was dated, the furniture was well past its prime, and the space was crying out for a refresh. But despite the challenges, it’s been one of the most rewarding projects we’ve ever taken on. As long-time fans of the TV show “Four in a Bed”, my partner and I were excited to roll up our sleeves and bring this project to life (on a shoestring budget). Over the last few months, we’ve poured endless hours into transforming the space—redecorating, fine-tuning every detail, and creating an environment where guests can feel truly at home. We’ve also been building valuable relationships, particularly with staffing resourcing agencies. One highlight has been partnering with NHS staffing to offer healthcare professionals a comfortable and welcoming place to stay during their time in the area. We took over the guest house during the quieter season, which gave us the perfect window to focus on getting everything just right. Now, with bookings steadily rolling in through #Houst and good old word-of-mouth, we’re thrilled to see our hard work paying off. At 80% occupancy, the guest house is thriving—even as other properties in the area seem to be struggling 👀. It hasn’t been easy (hello, 100-hour work weeks!), but staying hands-on and true to our vision has been key. Watching the transformation unfold has been incredible, and we’re so excited to welcome even more guests as the year goes on. With summer just around the corner, we’re ready to take on the busy season full force—and we’re even considering expanding by taking on additional guest houses to help other underperforming properties find their spark.
