A month before starting my 7th semester as an exchange student at University of Siena (Università degli Studi di Siena) in Italy, I would like to thank Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Ministry of Education and Culture Republic of Indonesia) for the given opportunity with the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards. Here's several take that I would like to share recalling back to my IISMA application process, 1. Take some time to self-reflect: Acknowledging your personal goals, values, and capabilities will help you in determining whether the program is suitable or not for you. 2. Carefully consider the requirements: Due to the tedious selection process, it is easy to be lost in it. Some note taking such as checklist will help to keep track of your progress. 3. Ask for feedback: No matter how bad you think your essay or speaking is, it wouldn't hurt to ask for some review or mock session. It will motivate and help you to improve in needed times. I'm looking forward to experience new cultures and make the most out of this opportunity. Shout out to M.Geovanny Al-Hakim as my mentor from IISMA-AC for the support and guidance for my exchange program preparation. #ToInclusivityAndBeyond #IISMA2024 #StudyAbroad #PersonalBranding

📚 💼 We bring the world of work closer to the students of University of Greenwich👇 Last week, students from the University of Greenwich, in the United Kingdom, took part in an interesting and highly educational talk with some of our colleagues from GRUPO PACADAR. The purpose of this session was for students could learn about what we do at Pacadar and potential professional opportunities. In fact, for the last three years, Pacadar has implemented an placement program with the University of Greenwich which has allowed for students with a variety of specialization background to complete a 1-year placement at our facilities in the United Kingdom. From Pacadar, the talk was led by Jorge Sánchez Zapatero, Head of International Projects & Deputy COO, and Antonio Diez Barral, UK Project Manager, together with María José García and GEMA DE LA GUIA de la Guía from the Human Resources team, who have promoted this initiative. During the talk, the students were given an overview of the beginnings of Pacadar, which date back 80 years, its international expansion, and the projects currently underway in the United Kingdom. In addition, the benefits of programs like this for Pacadar were highlighted, emphasizing how the diversity of profiles, mindsets, cultures, and perspectives help to have a much broader vision and come up with more creative solutions. The question-and-answer session confirmed what was said earlier about diversity and different points of view: students asked interesting questions ranging from purely technical matters, company strategies, environmental concerns to professional development. About this point, Gema de la Guía explained the possibilities for professional development within Pacadar, as well as the opportunity provided by the placement program, with which 100% of participating students so far have subsequently become part of Pacadar's staff. She also talked about the fascinating challenge that Pacadar currently faces in creating teams for potential international projects. But all the questions had one thing in common; the great understanding that everyone showed about Pacadar and their incredible enthusiasm for everything they were learning. 👏 We would like to thank the University of Greenwich and Twin Group for organizing these kinds of initiatives that bring the professional world closer to the academic world. #Education, #collaboration, #Pacadar, #PacadarUK #80years #precastingideas

Indonesia was still ranked among the top ten learning abroad destinations for Australian university students in 2022. The Australian Universities International Director’s Forum (AUIDF) 2022 data shows signs of the learning abroad sector recovering after the COVID-19 pandemic. What little student engagement there was with Indonesia in 2022 was largely due to the efforts of ACICIS. To find out more, you can download the 2023 Annual Report here: https://lnkd.in/gxigY6zE

Professional Accountant, FP&A Specialist & Agent of Change. *All my views expressed are personal perspective and do not represent any organisation's.
As an alumni who studied at UiTM in year 2001, I was fortune enough to be one of its alma mater to be invited to hear #TunDrMahathir message for celebration of 25 years proclamation of #UniversitiTeknologiMARA (#UiTM) from #InstitutTeknologiMARA (#ITM). Since establishment in 1956, ITM/UiTM’s focus on Bumiputera students aligns with Malaysia's affirmative action policies under the New Economic Policy (NEP), which aims to reduce poverty and restructure society to eliminate the identification of race with economic function. By empowering the Malay community through education, UiTM supports the government’s goals for socioeconomic equity. Under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Late Tun Arshad Ayub, ITM soon spread its wings to every state of the federation. It pioneered multi-tiered pre-university and diploma programmes, drafted innovative courses and curricula, and embraced many prestigious, external, professional programmes such as Bachelor of Laws (London), the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Decades before other institutions embraced the initiative, ITM launched twinning programmes with American universities. It also set up branch campuses in rural areas to remedy the rural-urban gap in education. Now with 1,081,935 alumnis and some of them are in positions to make significant difference to the country and some are contributing to nation building in their own ways. What next is for UiTM to produce more professional and technical Bumiputera individuals as based on the data from the Statistics Department Malaysia, less than 51% of Bumiputera have expertise in professional and technical fields. There are are more challenges ahead that need to be transformed to opportunities. There are dares that need to be converted to doors for the continuing odyssey ahead. As Universiti Teknologi MARA stands on the threshold of its seventh decade, as a fellow alumni, I am proud that many milestones that UiTM has achieved. #uitmdihatiku

IISMA 2024 Awardee at Boston University | Undergraduate Management Student at Universitas Padjadjaran | President at English Speaking Union Unpad | Most Outstanding Student FEB Unpad 2024
Embarking on my journey to apply for the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards by Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Ministry of Education and Culture Republic of Indonesia) this year has been nothing short of transformative. The experience of being accepted as an awardee to Boston University has opened my eyes to the power of resilience, self-discovery, and the importance of community support. Here are the three key lessons I learned along the way, enriched with my personal experiences: 1. It's a Long Way, Set Your Mindset and Build Your Courage The path to applying for IISMA was long and often daunting. From the moment I decided to apply, I realized that this would be a test of my determination and commitment. The process involved countless hours of research, writing, and revising my application materials, along with preparing for interviews that would ultimately shape my future. 2. Know Yourself and Believe in What You Have As I navigated the competitive landscape of applicants, I quickly understood the importance of differentiating myself. I realized that many students had impressive credentials, but what truly mattered was how I could present my unique story. I spent time reflecting on my experiences, passions, and aspirations, and I discovered that even the smallest experiences could be framed in ways that showcased my individuality. 3. You Are Never Alone One of the most significant realizations during this journey was the value of community and support. I was fortunate to have mentors, friends, and family who encouraged me every step of the way. Their belief in my potential helped me overcome moments of uncertainty. A special shoutout to my mentor, Richelle Bertly Josefano, whose guidance was invaluable. She not only provided me with practical advice on crafting my application but also offered encouragement during moments of self-doubt. Having someone who believed in my abilities made a world of difference. Reflecting on my journey to apply for IISMA, I am filled with gratitude for the lessons learned and the connections made. This experience has not only shaped my academic aspirations but also strengthened my character. I am excited about the opportunities that await me at Boston University, and I carry with me the invaluable lessons of resilience, self-discovery, and the power of community support. As I move forward, I hope to inspire others to embrace their journeys, believe in themselves, and seek the support they need to pursue their dreams. #ToInclusivityAndBeyond #IISMA2024 #StudyAbroad #PersonalBranding
