Yes, ACAs are not ideal. Yes, we want to see an end to children and young people residing in ACAs, but where's the alternate planning? Where are the carers needed to fill the void. Parallel to this decision should be an urgent focus on family connections for children in care, finding appropriate long term stable care options for children, building on support for family and Kinship carers and building the carer pool. Not removing a bandaid solution and leaving agencies with nothing. Will definitely be watching this space! #aca #nswgovernment #childprotection #fostercare #kinshipcare #childrenfirst https://lnkd.in/gNJseAWc

Myth: "I can't afford to foster." We understand that fostering a child is a big financial commitment. This is why we offer a generous fostering allowance for clothes, food, activities, pocket money and more. We make sure that fostering is financially viable for you and your family so you can concentrate on what’s most important – offering a supportive, loving and safe home to a child. Public Service Week may officially be over however, we appreciate the devotion our teams provide to our communities every day. Our Family & Children's Services employees continue to serve 24 hours a day, 7 days a week which is partially why this post comes a little late. The employees in Family and Children's Services are partnering with parents and families to ensure child safety and promote healthy families. This requires staff to be on call for emergencies to stabilize potentially dangerous situations and keep children safe from harm. We also work collaboratively with local agencies to ensure the best possible treatment for our families so they can overcome obstacles and reunite as healthy families. #GovPossible #publicservicerecognitionweek #mendocinocountysocialservices #mendocinocounty #greatteam #careersthatmatter #lovehwatyoudo #wehavethebestteam #helpingcareers #socialservices #lovewhereyouwork #governmentjobs

📢 Urgent Update: Record Number of Children in Temporary Accommodation 📢 At CEO Sleepout, we are deeply troubled by the latest figures from Shelter showing that a staggering 145,800 children in England are living in temporary accommodation as of December 2023. This is a 15% increase from the previous year, marking the highest number on record since tracking began. These children and their families face instability, stress, and often substandard living conditions. It's a stark reminder that we must do more to address the housing crisis. Building affordable social homes and implementing meaningful reforms for renters is crucial to ensuring every child has a safe, stable place to call home. Join us in raising awareness and advocating for change. Together, we can make a difference. #HousingCrisis #Homelessness #SocialImpact #CEOSleepout

What’s the difference from Service Dogs to Therapy Dogs? Service dogs are highly trained for a specific person’s needs. They are not allowed to be touched and are permitted in public facilities. Therapy Dogs are shared by a group of people, providing love and affection. Studies show that having a way to relieve stress has a significant impact on the well-being of employees. Therapy dogs in particular help reduce stress, increase motivation and improve overall job satisfaction, while also providing a sense of comfort. During #DevelopmentalDisabilitiesAwarenessMonth, the National Runaway Safeline is highlighting the urgent need for foster and adoptive families for children with special needs. Are you aware that NRS can assist young individuals and their families in accessing essential services to support their well-being? To achieve this, we collaborate with specialized organizations, encouraging them to join our database and engage with youth-focused entities in their communities, thereby enhancing the continuum of care. If you're looking for support, NRS is here for you 24/7 at 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or 1800RUNAWAY.org. If your organization is not part of our national database, you can complete Memorandum of Understanding online at https://buff.ly/3x6RKY4.
