When we say "Rangers", some confusion often arises. That's because the Rangers (also called eco-guards, park wardens,...) have a wide variety of tasks: from educating park visitors to managing the logistics of the Reserve, from monitoring animal populations to escorting professional hunters, from culling pest animals to dealing with local communities, from rescuing wounded animals to prevent crimes against wildlife (illegal hunting, logging, fishing). It's not uncommon for a Ranger to have assigned more than just one task, but in this page we want to highlight the challenges of those who risk their life to protect the animals on the ground and we want to tell everybody the harsh reality of their life. #CROWRangers #antipoaching #nature #exinctionisforever #lawenforcement #security #training #green #ranger #conservation

A brown bear cub laying by the water, captured by Donna Feledichuk @donnafeledichukphotographer Bears belong to the animals in Canada that face the threat of illegal hunting and poaching. Bears are mostly targeted for their pile, skin, claws and paws. In the ongoing effort to protect our wildlife, the Canadian government participated in a large international enforcement operation aimed at combating wildlife crimes, such as smuggling, poaching, trafficking, and the illegal trade of animal parts. 109 countries were involved in an operation that was conducted over several months in 2019, and the collective enforcement resulted in the seizures of tens of thousands of protected plants and animals worldwide, as well as products derived from them. Have you heard of this project before? And do you know any other ongoing initiatives or projects that combat issues such as poaching and illegal hunting? #conservation #wildlifeawareness #wildlifephotography #conservationphotographers #protectwildlife #yourshotphotographer #grizzlybears #bears
