Strategic Graphic Designer | Elevating Regenerative Brands with Sustainable Visual Storytelling 🌿 | Transforming Values into Visually Compelling Designs
Let's talk about drive. What drives you? For me, it's furry friends like this one. His name is Marzipan and he was rescued by One Tail at a Time in Chicago. He's my 7th foster dog! One of the driving forces that lead me to pursue entrepreneurship was having freedom and control over my schedule so I could get back to fostering dogs. These dogs often need more time and attention when they enter a foster home that I couldn't offer when I had to be in an office for 8-10 hours a day without any flexibility. While building a creative business is tough, this dog drives me to keep going. Seeing him begin to feel safe enough to play, wag his tail, get excited for walks, and cuddle up on the couch drives me when I don't close a sale, get ghosted, or start doubting myself. 💬 What drives you? Let me know in the comments! 🐩 Interested in adopting Marzipan? He'll be available in a few weeks! Are you a pet rescue looking to find more volunteers, get more donors, and rescue more animals? I can help! I offer discounted services for pet rescues so your staff and volunteers can preserve precious resources while bringing more needed resources into your organization. Find out how I've helped drive results for other rescues: https://lnkd.in/gvkbCX7j

WHO TAKES CARE OF YOUR PETS (FURBABIES) IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO YOU? Most of us have “furbabies” – either a dog, a cat (or both) that we consider our family. All of us want something in place to take care of our children in the event that something (God forbid) happens to us in the short term, and we need to know how this would impact the people we love. Did you know that planning for our pets can be done, so that we know that our wishes concerning who will take care of them if we cannot, will take place? Unfortunately, so many people with beloved pets don’t consider this, and family members are forced to turn the pet over to a humane society where they may never find a new “forever” home. Want to more about estate planning and avoid this awful outcome altogether – we offer free consultations to get you the advice you need! Executive Director/ LifeLine Service Dogs / Lead Trainer/ President: Arkansas Service Dog Association/Canine Program Director/ IACP /SW Arkansas Veterans Coalition/PCFRA BOD/IWDA
This is going to step on some toes but you need to know …. If we are going to take Veteran suicide seriously, we have to take the training and selection of service dogs seriously. I started getting private messages from the recipients of other SD organizations, and that’s how this started. These weren’t messages of ungratefullness but somehow possibly through social media they looked at LifeLine’s program and had questions. Most people have no idea really what a service dog is supposed to do or the level of training he/she supposed to have. I would safely guess very few of you have ever truly seen a legitamate service dog, due to the numerous emotional support animals walking around with service dog vests on (a violation of federal law by the way) or the owner trained/organization trained service dog that’s gotten less than just a few months of training. I am not going to publicly name the organizations , that’s not what this is about. This is about tranparency and I am fiercly protective of and have no tolerance for actions that do not truly benefit the Veteran for whom the organization was founded for. Every non-profit organization is required to file Form 990 or Form 990 EZ. After talking with a few Veterans who again were very grateful and just wanted to know if I could some additional training with their service dog. I learned that the training for that team was MINIMAL.. Basic obedience with very little public access work and at a max 3 tasks. That’s what they got. These are respected organizations you’ve heard of and most are “accredited” or “affliated” with self appointed “governing” associations. (LifeLine has a big share on that as well, but for a later post). NO organization should have less than a 75% success rate. LifeLine Service Dogs has a 93% succcess rate and was DENIED a open and competitive government funded, bid opportunity because the norm as reported by other organizations is somewhere between 10% - 50%. The reponse on LifeLine Service Dogs bid focused multiple times and I quote “the apparent success rate”. That was their only issue/concern. I asked the determining decision board to review this information and tried to share and bring awareness to and there was no interest to discover actual facts. Instead we’ve made a discovery…. One of the organizations who won the bid reported a 1.8 million budget , there is no report on how many dogs were enrolled and how many dogs continued on through training for graduation. This isn’t disclosed, however I feel those numbers are important if your supporting an organization who’s gained your support for the Veteran and his service dog. Additionally, this organization went on to pay, with organization funds almost $600,000 to the CEO’s own for profit company, as well as paying two other companies owned by relatives. This organization has recieved recognition on a national broadcast level. See comments for the other organization we looked into for 990 IRS reports.

National Love Your Pet Day is February 20! Of course, we don’t really need a special day to love our pets. But so often, our lives become automated, and we forget to acknowledge our furry friends. We go through the motions of our everyday tasks; we stroke Whiskers behind her ears as we leave the room or toss a ball to Max as we dash out of the house. And we promise them we’ll play later. They’re part of the family, after all, and they’ll be right here when we get back. But then our phone rings, or dinner needs to be cooked, or the kids need to do their homework… Or worse—Rex got into the basket of clean laundry and left the clothes strewn all over the floor. He was just bored, but who feels like playing after that? 😿 So this is a reminder for today—and every day—to spend some extra time with the person who always makes time for you. (Yes, I just called your pet a person!) 5 Reasons your kids should grow up with a pet · Teaches them responsibility · Inspires compassion · Hones empathy by putting themselves in their pet’s paws · Soothes loneliness. Yes, children can get lonely—and sad—and confused as they struggle to make sense of the world around them. (Just like we do, even when we don’t want to say it out loud). · For the love, laughter, and sheer joy pets bring into our lives If you don’t yet have a pet, consider rescuing an animal. So many little souls out there are in desperate need of a loving home. #loveyourpet #petsarefamily #pets #rescue #dog #cats #healing
