As many of you know, we are not open on Sunday. This sometimes can be an issue if you are looking for bread first thing Monday Morning as loaves don't start coming out of our ovens until 8am and some closer to 10am. We sometimes have a couple of loaves left from Saturday. We would never sell these loaves at full price because they are not at the peak of freshness (though our loaves will last about 7 days on the counter and much longer in the freezer). Starting Tomorow, Monday the 7th we will be offering products from Saturday's bake at half off with the purchase of any full priced item. If you just want a 2 day old loaf, that fine too. Each bale contains 1 tonne of stainless steel which equates to c. 84 kegs. 84 kegs generate c. $25k or c. $100k in revenue annually for a Brewer. For a venue / pub, 84 kegs generate c. $110k in revenue. In this photo, 10 bales have created significant annual lost opportunities across our industry and economy: - $1,000,000 in loss potential annual revenue for a brewer - $ 100,000 in destroyed assets for a brewer - $4,500,000 in loss potential revenue for a venue / pub - 350,000 pints of beer / seltzers / RTDs for the consumer - Countless resources managing this across multiple supply chains This photo alone is showing c.$5,600,000+ in lost annual opportunities, with another $11,200,000+ not in this photo. The perpetrator(s) got $12k for the metal in this photo. There are over 400 scrap metal yards in Australia, with the majority of yards not accepting kegs. However, there are a number which are and exporting squashed kegs offshore and commercialising from this. We equate stolen and lost kegs is costing the ANZ beverage industry >$40m annually. Though making “Pumpkin Kibbeh” is time-consuming and requires an involved preparation, the final result is so delicious and definitely worth preparing!! The payoff here is split between a pumpkin-bulgur dough and a tangy chickpea-onion filling that is loaded with leafy greens, sumac, pomegranate molasses and cumin powder!!
