12. #franchising Fact Check: Franchise businesses are indeed small businesses. Contrary to popular belief, that new franchise establishment in your vicinity is likely managed by a #SmallBusinessOwner. The franchisee may have the backing of a prominent brand, yet they remain a local entrepreneur whose triumphs and setbacks are intertwined with community support. This individual could be your next-door neighbour! They contribute to local taxes, bolstering schools, emergency services, and infrastructure. They invigorate the neighbourhood by generating employment. They might even contribute to local institutions like churches, schools, and charities. If you're ready to embark on the journey of becoming a local franchise business owner, seamlessly integrated into your community's fabric, reach out to us! We specialize in linking you with tailored opportunities that align with both your aspirations and the betterment of your local community. The #GreenBayPackers 🏈 hold the unique distinction of being the only publicly-owned #franchise in the NFL. This community ownership model has been in place since 1923, and the team’s bylaws stipulate that profits are to be reinvested in the team or donated to charity, preserving this distinctive structure. #NFL #franchising #GoPackGo #packers #franchisemybusiness #smallbusinessadvice #business #entrepreneur #smallbusiness #success

Titus Chair for Franchise Leadership at Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Titus Center for Franchising. I connect people in franchising and oversee an 80+ member Advisory Board of franchise professionals.
Franchising, it's a word that can sound intimidating, but it's really just a stepping stone to bigger things. When Alex Gingold and their team started their donut business, they knew they had something special. But they also knew they could only take it so far on their own. They had two paths in front of them. One was to keep growing with corporate stores. They had some great connections with Simon Premium Outlets and other malls. But they also knew that their success came from being part of the community, from giving back and doing fundraisers. Running company stores all over the U.S. seemed like a tough task. So, they started to learn about franchising. They realized that having a local presence in neighborhoods across the country could be a huge opportunity. And more importantly, it was the best way to really connect with their customers. Because at the end of the day, it's all about the people who walk through their doors and enjoy their donuts. We, Distributive, we are proud to support the Black Entrepreneur Ecosystem - South Eastern Ontario and more broadly to be of service to our communities, our brothers and sisters in innovation and entrepreurship. We need to see more etablished companies doing more to pull up the younger ones- and it's really not that hard. Large organizations MUST put in the time to test startups' innovations. Proof points and product feedback are more valuable than gold; they are what make startups move forward, not endless accelerators, incubators, programmes, and "helpful links". RBC, Scotiabank, TD, Rogers Communications, Bell and others, we had a little peak at what you're doing within your accelerator programmes and they are missing the mark. You have the opportunity to have a much greater impact without spending additional resources; why not do it? Actually test innovative startup products; try them, evaluate them, adopt them. As they succeed, it will raise the entire economic floor, creating jobs and exporting Canadian innovation around the world. We, Distributive, are being the change we want to see, and we're inviting everyone to join in. Have an impact. We managed to take a photo of what the experience could have become! The Black Block Party and Black Owned Businesses Showcase at Ontario Street - Kingston Ontario right at the City of Kingston City Hall. On July 29th, we witnessed the resilience of Black entrepreneurs in Kingston. We ended up the day enjoying a party at Daft Brewing. Despite heavy rains and a windy afternoon, our community set up booths and visitors braved the weather. We were only able to set up our booth for 10 minutes due to the weather. If you want to know how it would have looked like, this photo is a reflection of what was to happen! Nevertheless, business owners brought a variety of products, services, food, and artistic work, so we managed to engage with 15 business owners throughout the turbulent weather. Grateful for the support from Kingston Economic Development Corporation and Distributive (special thanks to Dan Desjardins, PhD for the generous $10k donation). The funding has been immediately rolled into the Promo Power-up Bonanza Program, aimed at providing 20 Black-owned businesses with a $500 grant for marketing initiatives. Basically, help them to reach and attract new customers through discounts to that amount. Let's help these businesses reach new markets and customer segments! #Resilience #CommunitySupport #BlackEntrepreneurs #KingstonEconomicDevelopment #PromoPowerUp
