In both instances the IDF was aware, according to some, of the provenance of the targets prior to engaging with lethal force. In both cases the IDF claims mistaken identities. If you are outraged, and your beneficiary refuses to understand the grave predicament they are placing themselves, and worse still the patron, the answer is simple. Turn off the resources. Annual #SeeSayDay is September 25 This campaign encourages the public to “Spot the Signs. Report the Activity.” Today the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is observing #SeeSayDay, the “If You See Something, Say Something®” campaign’s annual national awareness day. This year’s theme, “Spot the Signs. Report the Activity,” highlights the crucial role of public vigilance in national security and counter-terrorism efforts within the current threat environment. The #SeeSayDay call-to-action urges individuals to spot and report suspicious activity to help prevent terrorism-related crime – on September 25, and year-round.

We've learned a bit more about the security situation that allowed a 20 year old shooter to climb a nearby building and take three shots at President Trump before a secret service counter sniper ended his life. Unfortunately, we have more questions than answers. How did the secret service site survey team rate the threat of that rooftop? Were there enough counter snipers? Was the secret service effective in moving the president to safety? How is it possible the shooter has no social media presence? The SAFETY Act designation is an underappreciated aspect of ASIS certification.   If members of your team have ASIS certifications, reach out to other key leaders in your company. It may interest your legal counsel, and your talent acquisition team can embed this criteria in applicable position descriptions whether or not the client PWS requires it.   Also share it with the business development and proposal management teams. When your project team has ASIS certifications, the SAFETY Act's liability protection affords them, your firm, and aspects of your work on behalf of your clients a distinguishing advantage in your proposal when compared to proposals from other firms' that are competing for the same work. The client organization or agency mitigates risk even before the project starts by selecting the bidder with project team members who have ASIS certifications. Suggestion to #asisinternational : Make a downloadable one-pager/info. sheet for each of these standard corporate departments (legal, talent acquisition, BD, and proposal team). Consider also producing standard contract language for acquisition managers to slip into applicable RFPs/RFQs. Explain the SAFETY Act to these professionals from their perspectives. Although all the details of the recent incident at JBSA-Lackland Air Force Base are not yet available, it highlights the critical importance of security protocols and the need for ongoing vigilance at all levels of our military facilities. A shooter opened fire on the base, leading to an exchange of gunfire. While the swift response by base security prevented further escalation, this event underscores the persistent threats military installations face.
