Housing First is the key to solving homelessness - but for those cities with expensive housing they need to solve the supply problem to solve the Housing problem. Cities must remove supply barriers for all supply and incentivize the type of housing they need (ie: capital “A” Affordable and mixed income) then allow the private market to go to work (usually in public private partnerships)
Very proud of the work the CFTH and the Houston Community is doing to address homelessness. https://lnkd.in/gx2ZB_MF

Sixty years ago today, Step Forward—then known as the Council for Economic Opportunities in Greater Cleveland—was incorporated. Established as the state’s designated anti-poverty agency for Cuyahoga County in response to President Lyndon B. Johnson’s War on Poverty, Step Forward has been entrusted with leading the fight against poverty in our community. While much has changed over the past six decades, one thing remains constant: our unwavering commitment to helping individuals and families address immediate needs and build long-term skills to transform their lives. From our earliest programs, like Head Start, to our current offerings like adult skills training, and other supportive services, we have quietly and steadfastly opened our doors to help low-income individuals and families in Cuyahoga County take steps toward brighter futures. As times and needs evolve, we continue to stand by you—our neighbors, partners, and friends— to transform lives and strengthen Cuyahoga County, one individual, one family, one step at a time. #60YearsOfStepForward #60YearsOfService

Be A Love Warrior! Marginalized communities are more likely to experience poverty, lack of affordable housing, and discrimination in the housing market, pushing them into homelessness at higher rates. Addressing the root causes of racial disparities in homelessness requires that we embrace solutions that center Radical Love. The Supreme Court decision will lead to further stigmatization and violence on our unhoused neighbors. Embracing and protecting Radical Love is imperative. Be A Love Warrior! https://lnkd.in/gqCH4Kh4
