MD & Co-Founder at One Way | Recruitment Expert, Advisory and Business Strategist Committed to shaping futures and driving change.
Actions Speak Louder Than Words... But Sometimes, It's Worth Sharing What We Do at One Way Behind the Scenes We often focus on results in recruitment, but I’ve always believed that actions speak louder than words. As we reflect on this year, our work behind the scenes deserves recognition—not to show off but to highlight how we’re making a difference in the communities and industries we serve. Here are some key initiatives we’re proud to support and how we contribute as a business: Job Fairs and Inclusive Employment We actively participate in job fairs across the UK, helping individuals from all backgrounds access opportunities in the construction industry. By partnering with community groups, we ensure fair access to employment, focusing on skills, experience, and potential to create an inclusive hiring process. Vocational Programmes at Category D Prisons We partner with Category D prisons to support vocational training, helping low-risk inmates prepare for life after release. We’re also open to expanding this initiative to other prisons with similar programs. Local Community Construction Projects OneWay engages in community-based projects that promote local employment and development. We collaborate with local councils and developers to recruit local talent, upskill workers, and address the sector’s growing skills shortage. Upskilling and Training in Construction We prioritise training by partnering with providers to offer certifications and development programmes. Whether health and safety or managerial skills, we ensure those we place can grow and succeed. Apprenticeship Schemes at OneWay Our apprenticeship programs help young people and career switchers gain industry-relevant skills, developing the next generation of skilled professionals. Raising Awareness and Funds This year, on our charity golf day, we raised funds for the orthopaedic unit in Southampton while raising awareness of conditions like talipes (club foot). We involve clients and contractors, fostering a strong sense of community. Charitable Donations We support causes that matter to our clients and contractors through donations and sponsorships, giving back to the communities that support us. Supporting Young Talent in Sports We’re proud to sponsor Mackenzie Dellimore, or Kenz, as he pursues his dream of becoming a professional golfer. At age 5, Kenz competed as an amateur on the Clutch Pro Tour. Our support helps him continue his journey, and we’re excited to back someone whose values align with ours. At One Way, we’re committed to fostering growth—not just within our team but also in the broader community. #CommunityImpact #Apprenticeships #SupportingEachOther #ConstructionIndustry #RecruitmentWithPurpose #GivingBack #CSR James Vincent Brad Strickland Duncan Bartlett Helen Riley FMATT MCIPP Harry Parker
