A fancy job title, does not make you a leader. Changing the name to your company doesn’t make you a different company beneath. The way you TREAT people will always determine who you are and what you are as a company and as a person. My father died I went to work that week but truthfully it’s been one of the hardest things to ever go through professionally and personally. I’ve witnessed someone chase a title, and care only about themselves, this month I’ve decided to never allow that to be me. June is Employee Wellness Month. It's an opportunity for employers and organizations to better their existing wellness programs and encourage their employees to take proactive steps for improved physical, MENTAL and emotional WELL-BEING in the workplace. If that means move on, please do it. If that means creating improvements, please participate. If that means sharing a post, reposting or speaking up for a peer colleague or community, don’t hesitate. It’s Men’s Health Month, start a conversation during a safety huddle, simply be engaged. Does your employer encourage you to get a yearly physical or check up? I get the culture of “take care of yourself” but honestly let’s take care of all Men & women and not just during the month of June . Let’s collectively change a culture, let’s be more aware, let’s make it our norm so losing a “dad” who most likely never had an employer who cared about their wellness possibly save a life. #menshealthmonth #employeeswellnessmonth.

Ahead of Thanksgiving, we're revisiting the guidance we gave Charter Pro members last year around harnessing the benefits of employee recognition. Psychology research has identified a phenomenon called "the witnessing effect"—the idea that simply observing an expression of gratitude, even one directed toward someone else, made people more helpful, more willing to share information about themselves, and more eager to associate with both the giver and the receiver. What does that look like in practice? In addition to top-down messages of gratitude from leadership, create opportunities for employees to convey gratitude to, and receive thanks from, one another—for example, making a separate Slack channel specifically for colleague appreciation, or building in a few dedicated minutes at the start of meetings for workers to shout out the teammates they’re grateful for. Charter Pro members can read more here about how to put the witnessing effect into action: https://lnkd.in/eCM_FjVV

🔑 Finding a balance between work and family life is critical for both personal and professional happiness . 💼👨👩👦 Whether it's scheduling dedicated family time or setting boundaries at work, prioritizing both enriches our lives in meaningful ways. A lot of the time we spend more time with our co-workers than we do our own families so the mix of the two dynamics becomes enivitable. In recent years I’ve been one to follow the popular Dave Ritchie mantra of “treating our customers as our friends and they’ll be our customers for life” , not everyone will agree but in the same token I’ve found that treating your co-workers like you would your family has a similar effect on staff retention and team culture. Remaining open, transparent and consistent has built the foundations of our ops team here in Brisbane and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for our team over the next 3 qaurters 🔥one things certain , as a team we’ll move forward together. 💖 #WorkLifeBalance #FamilyFirst #ProfessionalGrowth #teambuilding #foundation #learning

🔊 Happy Wednesday It's crucial to take care of yourself and attend to your life outside of work. Back in the day, employees had rigid 8 am to 5 pm schedules, struggled to take time off for appointments, and risked losing their jobs for having too many commitments. I'm grateful that the outdated way of working is behind us. Ensuring that you get your tasks done is what truly matters. Whether it's a 30-minute break or a longer one, taking care of your health and personal matters is essential. Treating employees like responsible adults should always have been the norm. #worklifebalance #employeewellness #modernworkplace #hrcommunity #leadership #recruiterlife #flexibility #letsconnect

Are employers setting their employees up for failure? The past few years have been incredibly stressful for everyone, and employers are expecting employees to function at high productivity levels without time off or for their health. This is setting employees up for failure. Most people were not given the adequate coping skills to manage day-to-day stressors, let alone chronic stress. Emotional regulation, stress management, and effective communication are foundational skills that everyone needs to build upon in order to thrive. Without these skills, we cannot ascend to higher levels. Employers have a responsibility to recognize the need to build these skills in themselves and their teams, and to foster a culture of wellness and humanness. If they don't, they will continue to have issues with productivity, attendance, engagement, and retention. ⬇️What are some specific things that employers can do to help their employees manage stress? - - If you liked this post, be sure to ring my bell 🔔 to see more content from me. 🗓️ MARK YOUR CALENDAR for Carve Your Own Path, Inc.’s upcoming 5 Year Anniversary Celebration, Carving the Future, 11/3/23 at Wolf Creek Winery.
