One of the biggest concerns we hear from organizations interested in LGBTQ+ work is the fear of saying the wrong thing. But communication goes beyond the words we use—its about the framing, biases, and assumptions we may not even realize are there. It’s essential for organizations to take a step back and review communication as a whole. From your website language to survey design, every touchpoint is an opportunity to create inclusive experiences for LGBTQ+ individuals 🏳️🌈. 🏳️🌈 While it is great to see numbers on the rise, it’s important to have representation at all levels in a firm. There may be a misconception that only younger people are a part of the community, therefore contributing to these entry-level roles having more LGBTQ+ members, but there are LGBTQ+ at all ages. Societal pressures, however, may make younger people more likely to openly identify than their predecessors. #admissionsconsulting #lawschool #lawschoolbound #lawschooladmissions

Is your website LGBTQ+ inclusive? Here are four questions you should be asking yourself! 1. Am I using gender-neutral terms in my copy? An effortless approach to this is substituting some gender-specific terms with more inclusive options like "folks," "people," and "partners." 2. Am I integrating LGBTQ+ imagery seamlessly? It's crucial to feature gay or lesbian couples, transgender, and non-binary individuals on your site to highlight the diversity of people who might be exploring your content. 3. Does your newsletter sign up form really need to know if the user is a man or woman? Consider removing it altogether, or even leaving a blank space so users can share what they’re comfortable with. 4. Am I only thinking of the LGBTQ+ community during pride month? Remember that a rainbow logo won’t make your brand more inclusive, but thinking about how to make every user who visits your site feel represented year-round will! Want to talk about how we can make your website more inclusive? Let’s talk!
