☔️☀️ Rain or shine, we March for Meals! Our Horizon Go-Givers in Boise didn't let a little rain dampen their spirits! Although our original March for Meals event was rained out, we had an incredible make-up day last Friday to support our local Meals on Wheels program. Seeing the community come together for such a wonderful cause was amazing. Thank you to everyone who showed up and made it a memorable day! Did you know.... · There's an urgent need to not only continue the support of holiday activities in underserved communities but to expand the reach of such programmes · Children receiving benefits related Free School Meals attended a Time2Move Holiday Programme an average of five times in 2023 · Almost 2,000 children registered with SEND requirements in Cornwall took part in 2023 · 268 different activities were organised throughout the county in 2023 · There are more than 16,000 children in Cornwall eligible for Free School Meals Holiday activities help to: 1) Bridge the inequalities gap 2) Increase engagement in physical activity 3) Support school readiness 4) Provide safe spaces 5) Support positive mental wellbeing #HolidaysMatter
We're proudly supporting the #HolidaysMatter campaign, shining a spotlight on the importance of holiday activities for local children and raising awareness of the fantastic work being done by organisations running the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme across the country. We lead this in #Cornwall via the Time2Move Holiday Programme, commissioning healthy, active and fun experiences and nutritious meals for children aged 5-16 during the Easter, Summer and Christmas holidays, especially those who need our support the most. With more than 4 million children growing up in low-income families, holiday activities in underserved communities are vital so this national campaign aims to secure future funding so that we can collectively expand our reach and impact. SATURDAY MORNING (AUGUST 3RD) at 8:30 AM our amazing Who I Am Foundation volunteers in #Phoenix will be cleaning up the community once again! In honor of Kenny "Fanatic" Hogan, for this Community Clean-Up our volunteers, along with Bluprint Music Group, will be meeting up in the parking lot of Rodriguez Boxing Club, located at 1350 W Roosevelt St Phoenix, AZ 85007 NO OPEN-TOED SHOES Cleaning up loose trash is one of the best ways to pitch in for your community and the environment. Volunteering as a means to help conserve and protect the environment has a lot of upsides. Of course, the first is that you’ll be taking care of our planet, and it badly needs a little love given the myriad ways in which we’ve become adept at destroying it. But beyond that, volunteering for a cause you care about is a great way to meet like-minded people, make friends, and pull yourself out of the blues that sometimes accompany caring a lot about something important – especially if you feel alone in your endeavors. None of us like the sight of litter. Litter spoils the look of where we live but that’s not the only reason for picking up litter. There are a number of benefits from picking up litter that you may not have considered before. Volunteer-led projects such as these are one of the quickest, simplest, and least expensive ways to inspire more community spirit and civic action. A visually appealing community increases property values, attracts businesses, and improves the neighborhood's image. Beauty is one of the three most influential factors in community attachment, which means loyalty, to your particular town or city. Some research even shows that a nice-looking neighborhood promotes good behavior. Join us in keeping the community clean! For more information: https://lnkd.in/gg_x58uR #TeamWhoIAm_Phoenix

Excited to share a brand-new video from our recent event at the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless Community Garden with Jovia Financial Credit Union members volunteering. It was an event full of laughter, hard work, and heartwarming moments. Shoutout to our award-winning junior community volunteers who took part with Deborah Mazza and Christine Bentley, Bailey Riekkinen, Simone Williams for taking the time to be interviewed. 🔹 Our team dove into action—rolling up sleeves, tackling weeds, and turning weeding into quite the workout! 🔹 Engaging with community members, genuine smiles, and stories that remind us why we do what we do—it's all about human connections. 🔹 Midway through, vibrant activities shined, with lots of weeding and even more laughter. 🔹 Behind-the-scenes footage showcased teamwork in action, like a reality show with more soil and fewer drama queens. 🔹 Wrapping up with unforgettable moments leaving everyone grinning from ear to ear. This video reflects our hard work and passion for community outreach. Proud to be part of a team making a real difference, one weed at a time! Watch the full video and share your thoughts. What's your favorite part, and how can we enhance our community outreach? Your feedback matters! Let's keep those green thumbs moving and brains thinking! 💡 #CommunityEngagement #TeamWork #JoviaFinancialCreditUnion #CommunityRelations #Marketing #LICHCommunityGarden #GardenAdventures
