Effective January 1, 2024, Southern New England Healthcare (SoNE HEALTH) transitioned to a wholly-owned and wholly-governed physician entity. At its annual shareholder meeting, SoNE HEALTH, the area’s recognized leader in value-based care announced the new ownership and governance structure. The new model – built for physicians, by physicians – is structured to nurture a strong physician-patient relationship. In the words of Anthony Posteraro III, MD, Chair of the SoNE HEALTH Board of Directors. “Nothing is more important to us than the health of our patients, and nothing matters more to patients than their physician relationship. Our new strategic direction will enable physicians to provide our patients with the right care at the right time for the right reasons. With patients and physicians deciding together on care, the end results will be better outcomes, higher quality, lower costs, and higher patient satisfaction.” Read the rest of the story: https://lnkd.in/eXCvTVKT #healthcare #physicianfirst #valuebasedcare

#TestimonialTuesday: Transforming Patient Payment Timelines We're thrilled to share these impressive results from Lake City Medical Center: "Prior to going live with Rivia Health, Lake City had 51% of patient balances that were greater than 90 days old. They only have 16% of patient balances greater than 90 days old after using Rivia Health." Key improvements include: ✅ Before Rivia Health: 51% of patient balances > 90 days old ✅ After Rivia Health: Only 16% of patient balances > 90 days old That's a 35% reduction in long-standing patient balances! We're proud to partner with healthcare providers like Lake City Medical Center, helping them streamline their revenue cycle and improve cash flow. #HealthcareFinance #RevenueManagement #PatientPayments

Joel Freedman's hubris and ineptitude serve as a cautionary tale for VC's continued entry into brick and mortar healthcare systems. #venturecapital #healthcare #healtheconomics Three takeaways: 1. Paladin Healthcare Capital, a private equity firm controlled by investor Joel Freedman, purchased Hahnemann Hospital and built in protections to protect the hospital real estate from bankruptcy. Don't be blind to the fact that healthcare acquisitions are not just healthcare deals, they may also be real estate deals hiding in plain site. 2. When the closing of Hahnemann Hospital became inevitable, you can truly see where the values of Joel Freedman and Paladin were aligned as they sacrificed patient care and disregarded laws put in place to protect patients and communities during hospital closures. 3. Most terrifying is Joel Freedman's quote that shows his lack of awareness relating to the debacle: “I would like to go back to working in health care someday. I have a lot of knowledge. I’ve seen a lot of bad things. Unfortunately, the solutions demand a lot of capital.” https://lnkd.in/gRYyN_Uh

Healthcare Reputation SEO | Trust Marketing | Patient Feedback Analysis with Data Driven Insights for Organizational Improvement
Transformation Tuesday 🚨 💡 And here's why these results matter... 1️⃣ Outstanding patient care is now translated into a stellar Google rating, acting as a digital showcase of excellence that captures the attention of the 86% of patients who initiate their search online. 2️⃣ A 4.8-star rating fosters community trust, instilling confidence in potential patients when they are deciding where to book an appointment. 3️⃣ Superior reputation SEO, exceeding the 4-star benchmark, enables them to attract prospective patients who might not have discovered them in a Google search for "best family physician near me," as this search term filters out organizations with ratings below 4 stars.

We just caught up with Braxton Jett on the pulse of the MGMA Alabama conference he attended last week, and wow, did he have some great insight! Check out his key takeaways: 💬 #RPM was a hot topic in conversations among speakers and attendees. 🔍 Although there was a lot of discussion on RPM and #preventivecare among speakers and attendees, these innovations were hardly seen among the event's vendors. 🌱 Financial Viability + Patient Experience: There was a significant presence of primary care providers at the event. The majority of the conversation among independent #primarycare providers revolved around staying financially solvent, thinking outside the box to drive revenue, and creating a positive experience for patients. If you're on the lookout for new ways to bring in revenue and elevate patient care, look no further. Learn more here at https://lnkd.in/dUaJiQQ

Since 2005, 104 rural hospitals (~2% of all U.S. hospitals) have closed with an additional 600 under the risk of closure. Rural hospitals, particularly independent ones, fear poor financials and a lack of economies of scale will force them to be acquired by a dominant health system that would end services or even shutter, leaving the local community in the lurch. If necessity is the mother of invention, then it makes sense that we'd start to see more or new creative partnerships, JVs, affiliation agreements, etc amongst rural hospitals and providers. I will be fascinated to follow this announced merger b/w 3 rural MI hospitals. If successful, it could serve as a model for many other independent rural hospitals to follow (*if they have additional indepenent rural hospitals in close proximity).

What if instead of asking how can you decrease length of stay, you asked "what does the patient need today"? Would you see better patient care and outcomes? Would a decrease in length of stay follow? At Tampa General Hospital the answer to those questions is YES. By adopting this mindset they have found that it "often leads to more efficient care and length-of-stay improvements". In just one year they have reduced LOS by 8/10 of a day. While that might not seem like much, extrapolate that out over the 1000+ beds in the facility. It adds up quick. Not only that, but physicians have found the work to be more rewarding and fulfilling. So you have happier patients and physicians. Win/win! If your facility is in need of high caliber support in Case Management services, Medovent Solutions could the partner for you. Let's have a conversation and see if we are a fit to help take your department/facility to the next level. I can tell you your CFO will thank you when he/she sees the financial impact having the right people in place can have.
