🌟 Yesterday, I had the pleasure of participating in the “Networking by the Embassy” event, organized by the Bilateral Chamber of Commerce Bulgaria Romania (BCCBR) and hosted at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Romania. A wonderful chance to reconnect with old friends and long-time collaborators🤗 and to make new connections. 🤝✨ Great company, good food 🍽️, and wine 🍷, and light conversations ... or not quite. 😄 We talked about the access to Schengen 🚪 and the shared desire of both countries to overcome this obstacle 🛤️, about "Лека нощ, деца!" 🧒🌙 and the times when we, the Romanians, used to see food more often on Bulgarian television 📺 than in our own stores, about the similarities and differences (mostly similarities) between the politicians in our countries 🏛️🗳️and about competition law (how else?). However, most of the discussions revolved around Apollodorus of Damascus 🏗️! Yes, indeed! All the participants in the conversation agreed, with a touch of bitter humor 🤭, that the best chance we have of seeing a new bridge built over the Danube 🌉 in the near future would be if we could bring Apollodorus back to life, Jurassic Park style. 🦕 On a more serious note, there was much discussion about rail networks 🚂, highways 🛣️, and bridges. Especially bridges. 🌉 To whom it may concern, closer trade relations 🤝 between Romania and Bulgaria need more than just people and companies willing to cooperate. They need also physical infrastructure 🛠️! #NewBridgeOverDanube! Kasym-Jomart #Tokayev held talks with Italian President Sergio #Mattarella The official visit of the Head of State to #Italy began with a meeting with President Sergio Mattarella. Emphasizing that this was his first visit to Italy as President of #Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev thanked Sergio Mattarella for his #hospitality. The Head of State noted the long and mutually beneficial nature of relations with the Italian Republic - a reliable #partner of Kazakhstan in the #europeanunion. - Today I would like to discuss issues of mutual #interest, including the development of economic ties and strengthening of #relations aimed at the prosperity of the two countries, as well as ways to solve pressing international problems," said Kasym-Jomart Tokayev. As the #President further informed, Italy is one of Kazakhstan's key trading partners in #Europe. - The volume of mutual trade has exceeded 14.5 #billion dollars. We expect the trade turnover between our countries to reach 20 billion dollars in the foreseeable future. Italy is one of the main investors in Kazakhstan's economy. About 300 Italian companies operate in our market, including #Eni, which is a flagship company. We very much appreciate the results of our bilateral #relations. We intend to continue to create favorable conditions for their work.  The significance of Croatia in the Balkans lies in its strategic geographic location, serving as a bridge connecting Central Europe and the Mediterranean, making it a crucial trade and transportation hub. Croatia's historical and cultural heritage, including ancient cities like Dubrovnik and the Byzantine influences, plays a significant role in shaping the region's overall identity and contributes to the cultural diversity of the Balkans. Croatia's role in the Balkans is significant due to its efforts in fostering regional stability and reconciliation, especially through its involvement in mediating conflicts and promoting cooperation among neighboring countries. Croatia's accession to the European Union in 2013 has brought about notable economic and political advantages, not only for the country itself but also for the wider Balkan region, as it acts as an example and catalyst for other countries striving for EU membership. The geographical features of Croatia, such as its stunning Adriatic coastline and picturesque islands, make it an important tourist destination and contribute significantly to the overall economic development and prosperity of the entire Balkan region. Croatia's sporting achievements, particularly in football and water polo, have boosted its international reputation and have become symbols of pride for both Croatians and the Balkan region as a whole, highlighting the significant cultural impact of Croatia in the Balkans.

In my article “In search of a new growth model” that was published in the Sunday edition of Kathimerini, I focus on Greece's strategic priorities for fostering economic growth and transformation, focusing on technological advancements and sustainability.   The government's development strategy emphasizes increasing exports, boosting innovation, and fostering social cohesion as Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis highlighted in his speech at this year's Thessaloniki International Fair.   But to achieve these goals we should concentrate on three key issues:   ·      Deepening the reform effort by creating a more efficient regulatory framework, simplifying bureaucratic processes, and enhancing digital infrastructure. ·      Encouraging the spread of innovation and introducing technological upgrades across the board. ·      Attracting investments especially in new high-growth sectors with export potential.   The article concludes by stressing the need for collaboration among the government, business associations, and civil society to realize the vision of a more productive, digital, sustainable, and equitable Greece. It is important in this process to convey to the people the message that our country can do better. 🤝Fostering Cross-Cultural Dialogue: Recap of the May 7 Diplomatic Meeting🤝 We want to share with you an important meeting that took place on May 7, 2024, featuring key figures such as Vice-Rector of UniFg, Prof. Francesca Cangelli; Rector’s Delegate for International Relations, Prof. Mariantonietta Fiore; Head of International Service, Dr. Giulio Esposito; and Italian Consul in Lithuania for Puglia and Basilicata, Dr. Giuseppe Saracino. Notably, representatives students from Lithuania, Gustė Čižauskaitė and Goda Simėnaitė, also joined us. This meeting allowed to increase international cultural exchanges even further, with mutual satisfaction, in the interests of both Italy and Lithuania.
