🍽 Before I began my recruitment career almost 8 years ago, I spent years in the industry Hospitality Confidential serves (whether it was peeling cipollini onions as a line cook or running service as a fine dining GM). My love for the work itself never really left me and it’s what fuels my fire in committing to excellence for the businesses we represent as well as the talented jobseekers we meet. 🎩 Occasionally, I’m fortunate enough to take off the CEO/Founder hat and moonlight in some of these roles again. There’s not much time left in the week while running a company, but, I LOVE it and I do it for free. 🔪 This is a picture of me throwing on an apron to assist my James beard nominated chef friend throw an amazing AAPI event after a busy Monday in the office last week. ❣ There’s so much non monetary value for me in being able to get in the weeds of a busy hospitality operation on a regular basis. It’s how I remember the type of love that inspired me to build my recruitment agency. 🔄 Most importantly, it’s how I embody and practice empathy as a power broker between the businesses and talent we serve everyday. These seemingly small acts inevitably trickle down into the practice and culture our team embodies in our work. ☕ CEO’s and founders may choose from a wide range of activities that fill their cup. Some are fans of meditation and others of networking retreats. I’m invigorated by returning regularly to my professional roots. 🚶♀️ If you’re looking for a recruitment team that walks the walk, reach out! Who knows, I might just come moonlight in your business, too. 😜 🗓 Happy Monday, let's make it nice! - Hanae

Happy National Running Day 🏃🏃♀️- The perfect opportunity to reflect this evening whilst enjoying an evening run. It got me thinking … ‘Recruitment isn’t for everyone…’ 🏆 But for those who stick at it, recruitment can be a hugely rewarding process 🏆 What’s your reason for working in recruitment? Here’s a couple of mine: CANDIDATES 👉 #journey - Being an integral part of a candidates journey is super rewarding. Watching their journey from start to finish can be a fantastic experience. 👉 #Knowledge and insights - knowing your market is key, and as a recruiter you’re exposed to vast amounts of valuable market/industry insights. Who better to learn from than those actively working in the sector you recruit for! Ask questions and show interest. 👉 #Support network - both recruiters AND candidates experience ‘highs and lows’, whether your candidate is finding the job search tough OR you as the recruiter are having a bad week. Good news is you’ve formed a partnership with your candidates, and you can provide that little support when times get tough! 👉 #Feedback - something a lot of people struggle to take on board, but I believe if someone has something to say, there’s usually a reason for it. Feedback is crucial not just when giving feedback to candidates you’re representing, but also for candidates to give to their recruiter. Candidates experience the process you provide when you represent them, so ask them questions about their experience - it’ll help you refine your processes and make improvements where needed. CLIENTS 👉 #Partnership - a term that is crucial within our industry. Truly understanding a business’ culture, mission, growth plans and people is the key to finding them exceptional talent. But it’s also extremely interesting to see their growth plans materialise and learn from them. 👉 #Transparency - being able to have honest discussions is perhaps my favourite parts of working closely with our clients. Ultimately as a recruiter, we need to match the criteria set out by our clients. However, if approached correctly it’s important to provide guidance and honest feedback to clients if you feel something could be changed/amended. 👉 #Placements - this is a particularly rewarding feeling, especially for roles that we work on for client’s who have been struggling to fill the vacancy internally. Seeing your candidate start a new role, and seeing them progress within that company over the months/years is perhaps the best part of what we do. #recruitment #accounting #finance #hertfordshire #essex #london

The Joys and Juggles of Running a Boutique Recruitment Firm Hello, everyone! 🌟 Running a boutique recruitment firm is like riding a roller coaster, and I wouldn't trade it for anything! 🎢 Imagine navigating through tight deadlines, aiming for sky-high targets, dealing with unpredictable outcomes, and constantly striving to attract and engage qualified candidates—all while building my brand. It's a wild ride, but here's how I manage to stay on top of it all and still get a good night's sleep (most of the time). 😴 1. Tight Deadlines: Ever feel like you're in a race against time? Welcome to my world! Whether it's filling a position yesterday or delivering results faster than a pizza delivery, tight deadlines keep me on my toes. But hey, who needs sleep when you have adrenaline? ⏰💨 2. High Targets: If targets were mountains, I'd be a seasoned climber. Every placement is a peak, and every target hit is a celebration at the summit. And let's face it, the view from the top is always worth the climb. 🏔️🎯 3. Unpredictable Outcomes: In recruitment, unpredictability is the only predictable thing. But this keeps the job exciting and full of surprises. Plus, I love a good plot twist! 🍫🎉 4. Attracting and Engaging Qualified Candidates: Finding the perfect candidate is like finding a needle in a haystack. But I turn that needle into a magnet with a little charm, persistence, and the right strategy. My superpower is engaging with amazing talent and matching them with their dream jobs. 🧲🦸♀️ 5. Building My Brand: Brand building is like nurturing a plant. It requires time, patience, and a lot of care. But seeing it grow and flourish? Rewarding. My brand reflects my dedication; I'm proud of every leaf and blossom. 🌱🌸 I am grateful for the journey and the incredible people I meet. Each day brings a new adventure, a new lesson, and a new reason to smile. 😃💪 To all my fellow recruiters, keep pushing, smiling, and remember—you’re doing an amazing job! And to everyone looking for their next great hire or career move, I've got your back. 🤝✨ Here’s to turning chaos into success and loving every moment of it! 🎊🚀 Cheers, #Recruitment #TalentAcquisition #CareerGoals #Success #BrandBuilding #HR #RecruiterLife #Motivation #Inspiration

𝗝𝘂𝗺𝗽 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲. 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝗮𝗮𝘁𝘁𝘁? Let me make one thing infinitely clear: Ready? A Cluster General Manager of a top-tier hospitality company approached me, suggesting that I recommend candidates for their open positions but he wouldn’t be able to pay for our recruitment needs. Simply put, he essentially asked us to work for free. It's like booking a luxurious hotel room for a weekend getaway, enjoying all the amenities and services, and then when it's time to check out, telling the receptionist, "Sorry, I won't be paying for my stay. You're joking, right? Let's make a splash! Are you up for it? As a recruiter, I will always prioritize candidates' needs. For Candidates: We work for free, dedicating ourselves to: •Empowering candidates •Answering their queries and concerns •Helping them unlock their potential •Conducting insightful interviews to understand their aspirations •Providing personalized guidance to help them soar •Crafting CVs that stand out in the crowd •Offering invaluable tips and advice for career success •Extend a job offer if a suitable position is available •Always be ready to lend a confidential ear; sometimes, they just need someone to listen. This list just keeps on going... For Partners: We don't work for free because: •We are the guardians of our candidates' dreams and goals •We invest countless hours to: •Cultivate a sterling brand and reputation •Dive deep into interviews and research •Proactively seek out the best opportunities •We serve as strategic partners: •Crafting tailored recruitment strategies •Navigating complex hiring landscapes •Building lasting relationships with top talent. In this era, recruiters are not merely filling positions, but need to embody the role of brand architects and brand advocates. The question that begs for an answer is: Are you prepared to redefine the image of a recruiter? #hiring #culture #hotelindustry #HR #hospitality #recruiting #uhnwi #Switzerland

Find Hidden Gems of Staff As Hoteliers and recruiters, we are always on the lookout for unique talent and staff who we know will be a great fit for the industry. But what happens when the pool of talent dries up and we have to reach outside our regular boundaries? This is where hidden gems come in. These individuals may not have the qualifications or knowledge of the industry, but they make up for it with their ambition, enthusiasm, drive, personality, will to succeed, and that spark. They thirst for knowledge, want to succeed, and never give up. As someone who personally loves these hidden gems, I take the time to teach and mold them. Nothing makes me happier and prouder than when I see or hear about those staff present or past who have grown up and achieved success knowing that you took that chance on them! Seeing them grow on a regular basis is what makes me happiest. Everyone has low days, but how they bounce back from them shows the drive and character you need. So how do we find them? It's all about that gut feeling when you meet them and see that burning desire. Even at higher levels it can help to expand your boundaries and seek people who don't meet the exact criteria. There will never be a 100% fit so a diamond in the rough can be equally fulfilling. So, when all avenues are dried out never think all is lost and that it will be a struggle, get out there and people watch, your gems are out there and all they need is a mentor who has time for them. You will be rewarded. Today I wanted to share a refreshing and positive experience I had recently with Mohamed. 🌟 Several recruiters have approached me in the past few months with job offers. Most of them simply stop replying after a first negative answer, but Mohamed stood out by continuing the conversation with respect and professionalism. 👏 Despite my satisfaction at Discourse — where the benefits, work-life balance, and overall conditions are unbeatable — Mohamed approached me with understanding. He acknowledged my feedback and provided detailed information about the role. This rare and commendable approach truly sets him apart. 💼✨ Recruiters take note: understanding what keeps professionals happy in their current roles is crucial. If you're looking to attract top talent, offering conditions that match or surpass their current benefits is essential. And remember, doing some research and sharing all possible details about the job is important. 🔎 For example, if someone is thriving in a fully remote role, suggesting an office-based position without considering their current setup may not be the best approach. 🏠🛑 Thank you, Mohamed, for exemplifying meaningful human interactions in the professional world. 🙌 #Recruitment #Professionalism #WorkLifeBalance #EmployeeBenefits #CareerGrowth

NETWORKING TIPS— If you want solutions to a specific issue, direction on a specific task, then a more specific question will lead to a specific answer! For example, asking your recruiter friend about updating your resume: When asking them about updating your role description, don’t just ask “what should I put for my work history?” since recruiters know that you’d want to highlight different aspects of your previous jobs when applying to different positions. Instead, ask “I’m currently applying for HR Management positions and I’m looking for ways to highlight what they’re looking for on my resume. I have had previous roles in Hospitality and Retail Management. What should I highlight from those roles to be a standout candidate to Hiring Managers?” The more specific the question, the more specific the answer! #networkingtips #hiring

Who agrees: the best things in life are not planned. And that's exactly how my journey into recruitment happened, unplanned and completely out of the blue! Who'd have thought I would have fallen in love with spending 10+ hours a day on LinkedIn, not me that's for sure. But here we are 4 years later having started as a business consultant to now managing a team, and admittedly, still struggling to be consistent on this very platform BUT if you have read my previous post, you will know that this is the year of more LinkedIn activity. I could easily bore you with all the reason’s I love what I do, and let’s be honest this profession is not the easiest to love, the ups and downs, the frustrations, the highs and the lows – doesn't sound very enjoyable does it? What I have come to realize is that despite all the highs and the lows of this job I still find myself learning new skills every single day and THAT is what I love about recruitment. There is always something to learn whether that is from my candidates, clients, colleagues, books, processes or just day to day responsibilities. I will be honest my journey into this profession was not the easiest (there have been a few tears 😒) but when I look back now, it has all been worth it because every setback has made me stronger and a better consultant to my clients/candidates, and that for me is invaluable. Below you will see a picture of my first End of Year Celebration to my most recent one with JBAndrews (any guesses on my favourite colour?). I'm looking forward to many more of them with JBAndrews and continuously celebrating this journey with my connections!
