If you were wondering what to do this fall, refer to our Fall Guide 🍁
Back by popular demand, our Fall Guides! Thank you to our clients and candidates who requested the return of our extensive lists of amazing things to do this season. Find your regional guide here: https://lnkd.in/ewMBvm_a You’ll find hikes, festivals, concerts, classes, retreats, volunteer opportunities – and more. My top picks? - In Vancouver, a two-day train ride through the mountains (the Rocky Mountaineer Vancouver) departing on Sept 16, and then on Nov 4, catching Canadian pop icon Sabrina Carpenter live in concert. - In the Nation’s Capital, I’m a fan of the Carp Fair, taking place this year from Sept 26-29. A walk around Pink Lake is how I spent many Sundays as a child (free and gorgeous), or if time allows, a visit to Parc Omega complete with a stop for poutine along the way. - In the GTA, I’d check out the energizing yoga and pilates classes at Chi Junky (or maybe the puppy yoga at Pawpals??) and then try to catch a glimpse of the stars at TIFF, which kicks off today and runs until Sept 15. Please share your favourites, and anything we may have missed in your region – we can include it next time. Wishing my network of colleagues and friends a crisp and colourful fall.

The SPA Method Going to a Spa is one of the many things that I absolutely love. And when I say Spa, the place that immediately comes to mind is Caracalla in Baden Baden, Germany. I’ve been there at least a hundred times: hot and cold baths, jacuzzis, dozens of different saunas. Total relaxation. Two hours there and you come out a changed person. Another way to change people is through storytelling. Storytelling cuts to the chase. It’s a superhighway to the unconscious to deliver powerful messages without giving lessons. And it is super easy when you use the SPA Method: S for story, P for point and A for Apply. Tell your story, make a point and then explain how to apply it. Try it out today! #engagement #publicspeaking #communication #influencingskills #Caracalla #BadenBaden

Join us for a free workshop on Inclusive documentation for cultural heritage collections! On November 11, 2024 at 09:30, as part of the #CIDOC2024 conference, the ICOM Working Group on Decolonisation and CIDOC - International Committee for Documentation are hosting a free workshop focused on advancing best practices in using documentation to support the preservation of cultural heritage collections. We're bringing together experts and professionals to discuss innovative strategies for inclusive and effective cultural heritage documentation. What can you expect? Our guest speakers will dive deep into the discussion of ‘decolonising’ museum collection documentation, addressing historical biases, and highlighting the importance of bringing multiple perspectives into the conversation. We'll discuss how to develop more inclusive collection management systems that respect the cultures and histories they represent. Practical Sessions *Object Biography: Participants will reconstruct the history of a cultural heritage object and identify different meanings, values, and relationships it had in the past and today. The first round of the workshop therefore consists of a mapping exercise to identify stakeholders involved in these knowledge processes and how this influences, and relates to, the documentation of cultural heritage in museum collections. *Digital Participation: Using free digital repository technologies (Tainacan) and the Mastodon social network, participants will take on the role of a museum technician, depositing a digital object, documenting it, and inviting community contributions in real-time. This exercise showcases how social participation can democratise the documentation process. 🔔 Trigger Warning: Please note, this workshop will address topics of decolonisation in museums and colonial objects, which may be sensitive for some participants. Register now and be part of this meaningful dialogue and practical learning as we work together to transform cultural heritage institutions into more inclusive and representative spaces. 💻 https://lnkd.in/dVz9NvZA CIDOC 2024 full programme: https://lnkd.in/dceKJZDM

The future of spas isn’t just about personal wellbeing anymore. We’re seeing a shift toward making spas social and cultural destinations—think creative workshops, art installations, and even music performances, all integrated into wellness spaces. In a way, this reflects ancient Roman times, when communal baths were as much about socializing as they were about relaxation. Today, more people are craving shared experiences that go beyond the solo spa day. So, spas could soon become "third places" where community, culture, and well-being intersect. This trend appeals to people who want more than just a break from their routine. They’re looking for spaces where they can reflect, create, and connect. If you're interested in the future of spas, I wrote a newsletter on the topic and you can read it here: https://lnkd.in/eWJ-gwqW I hope you enjoy it. #beautytrends #beautynews #beautyindustry #wellnessculture #futureofspas #communitywellness

Working in partnership with ambitious professionals to achieve three outcomes🔹Career Breakthroughs 🔹Productivity&Creative work Processes🔹Building a Sustainable& Meaningful Lifestyle | Fellow IoC | Forbes | HBR Advisor
The problem with generalities is that it leads you to forget that … The most important is in the specifics. In the little details. In the little surprises. “Venice has too many tourists. It s too crowded. Etc etc etc.” I could choose to focus on the amazing amount of tourists … sure. I prefer to focus on the following 🔘 why does a Bellini taste better in Italy? 🔘 not a single modern building (not one!) 🔘 when did we stop listening to the time from our cities clock? (Sound on for the attxhed video) 🔘 why can t we find Apricot marmelade croissant somewhere else in the world? 🔘 how was this city built and why did it become so powerful (my #learner & #input at its best) 🔘 always remember to mix business (I am here for the Financial Times Luxury summit) and pleasure. 🔘 Biennale is on so I can mix Art & Business. I found it an amazing source of creativity and newnideas (not all good I agree). 🔘 why is the service so good (so far) here vs other massive tourist cities (I m a Parisian living abroad, so I kind of know what i m talking about) Taking time, to look, to listen, to feel, to understand … to be present. My form of meditation. Next? Looking forward to start the work tonight #coaching #mentoring #FTluxurySummit #luxury

👀 Is London really bad vibes? 💭 In recent times, the city has seen a slow down in its nightlife scene. But why is this? It seems that a growing number of young people are opting for more meaningful and experience-based activities over traditional nights out. 🤔 So, what are the alternatives? 📲 Event based companies have seen a gap in the market and have responded by introducing some ‘wholesome’ alternatives. Some of these include: ⛷ Soft Life Ski - Soft Life Ski is an African and Caribbean Ski Festival redefining the slopes. Through a blend of music and skiing/snowboarding, SLS focuses on fostering inclusivity and making waves in winter sports. Trips so far have included: Hemsedal, Norway, Chamonix & Valfrejus, France. 🎨 BeauBeau’s - Café and ‘third space’ that hosts free chess nights and art clubs founded by Nigerian painter, skateboarder & artist Olaolu Slawn. The heart of BeaBeau’s ethos lies in community and fostering the creativity of young minds. 🍾 PRTYHERE - The ‘UK’s Fav Black British Pub Quiz’. This event provides an interactive cultural experience, combining drinks, music and trivia. PRTYHERE strike the perfect balance between party vibes and creating memories all whist having the chance to meet new people. 🎞 PLACE LTD - Place Ltd believes that ‘there’s more to London than nightlife.’ Followers can stay updated with weekly posts that feature everything from theatre shows to workshops, film screening and book clubs. 💡 What can marketers learn from this? 🧗 It seems that young people are craving experiences. They're moving away from conventional nights out and seeking more fulfilling means. It’s time for brands to embrace this shift and alter their offerings accordingly, by embracing IRL events and activations. #onetwelveagency #influencermarketing #culturalmarketing #softlifeski #placeltd #PRTYHERE #beaubeaus
