Wyndham Hotels & Resorts' pipeline hits a record high in Q2. 📈 “Wyndham has ‘lots of deals out there on the horizon,’ CEO Geoff Ballotti said, adding that deals signed in Q2 bolstered ‘phenomenal’ pipeline growth for the hotel company in the quarter.” Key highlights of Q2 earnings include: 🔹 Across Wyndham’s portfolio, the company opened more than 18,000 rooms globally in the second quarter, including more than 7,000 in the U.S., which represented a year-over-year increase of 16%. 🔹 A significant portion of the projects in the pipeline are ECHO Suites, which launched in 2022 and opened its first location in Spartanburg, South Carolina, this month. The brand has a pipeline of roughly 270 hotels, or more than 33,000 rooms, making it Wyndham’s “fastest-growing brand,” Ballotti said. 🔹 Wyndham added 11 upscale extended stay hotels and 1,500 rooms to its network through a strategic partnership with WaterWalk. Extended stay remains a highly competitive category industry wide. Hotel Dive has the full story: https://lnkd.in/g4xGJ6GY

The sun shone on the UK hotel industry in July, with occupancy and profitability soaring, according to the latest RSM Hotels Tracker. Chris Tate, head of hotels and accommodation at RSM UK, said: “It’s encouraging to see occupancy levels and profits back to pre-pandemic levels. The warmer weather and the holiday season have kept the momentum strong for the hotel industry.” With Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour having a noticeable impact on the industry this summer, the question now is: Can Oasis create a similar buzz next year, or will hospitality be left looking back in anger? https://lnkd.in/evs_YXc8
