Early stage investing is a people game, and our latest Italian Founders Fund investment is just one more example of that! I first met Nicolo Mazzocchi a bit over two years ago, and the potential for what he had just started building with Simone Patera - a company first known as Algo AI, but that the world will come to love as Skillvue - was already clear and exciting. The problem they're aiming at is clear: there’s a huge need to hire and develop people in positions where soft skills are critical, such as public-facing retail posts. The ways of evaluating those skills tend to be pretty unsophisticated, though, which leads to frustration for both managers and employees. That's where Skillvue comes in, first in the recruitment phase and then in longer term HR analysis/evaluation needs. But success isn't just about launching the right company at the right time. It's about who the founders really are: driven, extremely quick learners who understand growth on the personal and professional levels. Nicolo is the incarnation of this. So one day when Nico told me that he was a 3x national sailing champion, I wasn't surprised - it perfectly fit that unique drive that I'd already seen in them. And just to stay on the "people, people, people" side of things, I'm also very proud to be supporting Nico, Simone and the rest of the Skillvue team alongside Edoardo E. Ermotti and Emanuele Larocca from 14Peaks Capital, Isabel Salgueiro from Kfund, and the other investors who have joined in completing this round.

This resulted in: 1. Expanding Team Virtuscope 2. Changing the niche that I am personally going to be working with 3. Making a tough decision to cancel client contract 4. Investing in personal development 5. Charging my worth unapologetically It's a sad situation when people see your value but you don't and this can hold you back from spreading your wings and soaring high. I have never been one to limit myself and I have developed new skills that will enable me to greater serve those in need of the services I have to offer. Will share more about this in time to come. On another note now things have kinda settled VIRTUSCOPE will be reoppening on January 15th.
