How Can Communities Unite to End Domestic Violence? Earlier this week, Sabine Stövesand, founder of the StoP model, talked about how it successfully brought neighbourhoods together to tackle domestic violence effectively. StoP believes that community response is essential to react to abuse as it occurs, and aims to empower bystanders to safely help support survivors and hold perpetrators accountable. We’re calling on our community to act! We need you to join in our efforts to advocate for increased funding and support for domestic violence programs and shelters. Survivors deserve safe spaces and essential resources to heal and rebuild their lives free from domestic violence. By reaching out to your legislators, you can help ensure that domestic violence programs receive the funding they need to continue their vital work. You can help by: 1. Writing to your legislators: Share why domestic violence programs are important to you and urge them to prioritize funding. https://lnkd.in/e9R7-Dm 2. Spreading the word: Encourage friends and family to do the same. The more voices we have, the stronger our message! Together, we can advocate for change and make a lasting impact in our community. Let’s be the voice of change for those who need it most! #HealingHappensHere #31derfulways #CCSSEndDomesticViolence #DVAM

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and PSLS is committed to raising awareness, supporting survivors and fostering conversations about domestic violence. While many survivors obtain protective orders to ensure their safety, they often still face challenges such as homelessness. The Illinois Human Rights Act offers crucial protections for victims of domestic violence, including safeguards against discrimination in real estate transactions for those with orders of protection. If you are a survivor facing discrimination related to your protective order, we encourage you to call 855-FHP-PSLS (347-7757) to apply for PSLS' services. Your safety and well-being are our priorities. #PSLS #PursuingJustice #RestoringHope

So, what's the plan? How can we make a difference? How do we put an end to domestic violence? The truth is, we can't stop it entirely. But what we can do is equip ourselves with strategies and education initiatives that truly matter Addressing domestic violence requires a collective effort from the entire community. We need to start by promoting open dialogues in schools, workplaces, and public spaces to break the silence surrounding domestic violence. Encouraging bystander intervention and supporting survivors through accessible resources such as hotlines, shelters, and counseling services are crucial steps. By promoting values of empathy, respect, and equality, and challenging harmful stereotypes, we can collectively create a culture of zero tolerance for domestic violence, fostering safer and healthier communities for everyone. #familylawyerslogan #familylawyersjimboomba #consentordersbrisbane #separationlawyersbrisbane #propertysettlementbrisbane #divorcelawyersbrisbane #domesticviolencelawyersbrisbane #domesticviolencelawyerslogan #domesticviolenceawareness #domesticviolencesurvivor #DV
