Yesterday, I participated in the 34th Parliamentary Session, addressing the agenda "All Government Schools Should Be Privatized." I presented my stance in opposition. Both the leaders of the House Fatima Mazhar and Hafiz Muhammad Sudais articulated their points in favor and opposition, respectively. The speaker of the house Ghaneem Irfan Warraich also played his great role in the session. The discussion was robust, with all participants contributing well-researched facts and figures. I look forward to engaging in more sessions of this nature. #ParliamentaryDebate #EducationReform #PublicVsPrivate #InformedDiscussion

“Leaving politics and political party affiliations aside” -> 1) If minimum age to run for a president is 35, why don’t we institute a maximum age as well through an amendment? This is a challenge to every congressmen and senator in the country! 2) To be fair a 2x multiple of minimum age as a cut off for a presidential candidate age is reasonable? 3) we have the best research happening in memory and cognition, why can’t we institute a criteria for any age president to be assessed for cognitive abilities every year?

We believe you are never too young to start learning how the country is run. That's why many of our free teaching resources on democracy and political literacy are suitable for pupils aged 5-11. Ahead of the #GeneralElection, here are some highlights... 1. What is a Vote? (ages 5-7) For our youngest citizens, we start by looking at what it means to vote. The lesson ends with an opportunity for pupils to vote in a real-life school situation! 2. Who runs the country? (ages 5-11) Following on from “What is a Vote?”, help pupils explore the important role MPs play and how they can make their voices heard. 3. Democracy: What is a General Election? (ages 7-11) This is the first part in a three-part series in which primary school pupils will explore the meaning of democracy and the ways citizens can participate in democratic life in Britain. 4. Why do we pay taxes? (ages 7-11) Pupils will hear a lot about taxes during the election campaigns - but what are they and why do we have to pay them? They will find out in this two-part lesson. 5. The Big Legal Lesson (ages 5-11) Back in March, we ran #TheBigLegalLesson – a campaign to start conversations about the law in schools. The resources are still available and explore the role the government plays in making our society’s rules. You can access all our primary-level democracy resources below. #FreeTeachingResources #PoliticalLiteracy #Citizenship #PSHE #SMSC #Democracy https://lnkd.in/ebSyhrGc

Great to talk to the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters as part of their inquiry today. I think they go the message: more research into civics and citizenship education, and more opportunities for teacher training! Interested in making a submission? See here: https://lnkd.in/g5VY5Zju
