⚠️ Safety First! ⚠️ Intensive health and safety training isn't just a box to tick on construction sites – it's a crucial investment in the well-being of our workers and the success of our projects. Here are 5 reasons why it's absolutely essential on Construction Sites: 1. 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝘼𝙘𝙘𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨: Proper training ensures that workers understand the hazards present on construction sites and how to mitigate them, reducing the risk of accidents and injuries. 2. 𝙇𝙚𝙜𝙖𝙡 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚: Compliance with health and safety regulations is not just important for the well-being of workers, but also to avoid costly fines and legal consequences for non-compliance. 3. 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙧 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙛𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙡𝙚: When workers feel confident in their ability to navigate potential hazards safely, it boosts morale and creates a positive work environment. 4. 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙀𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙮: By prioritising safety, construction sites can minimise disruptions caused by accidents or injuries, leading to smoother project timelines and increased productivity. 5. 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙇𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙨: Ultimately, intensive health and safety training saves lives. It ensures that workers return home safely to their families at the end of each day, which is the most important outcome of all. At Greater Manchester Skills Academy, we take safety seriously. That's why we run intensive 4-week-long Introduction to Construction courses that include health and safety training, comprehensive classroom sessions, vital manual handling training, and the opportunity for learners to obtain their Green CSCS card at the end of the course. New Blog!⭐ Construction workers need their CSCS card in order to work on site, and one easy way to achieve this is by keeping plant training up to date and relevant. Easybook Training book individuals onto plant training courses with either the Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) or the National Plant Operator Registration Scheme (NPORS). There are differences between the two schemes, mainly to do with location of training, course content and employers preference, but both are widely recognised throughout the UK. PASMA and IPAF Training Courses- Significance and Differences of Each Course You Must Know! Both IPAF and PASMA are essential training courses when it comes to meeting Working at Height Regulations and protecting the health and safety of staff who work at height. Each course involves different aspects of height hence, it is vital to understand the importance and differences of both courses. This ultimately helps you identify which course will be the best fit depending on how you’ll access the work site. IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) involves the safe use of powered access while the PASMA Course (Prefabricated Access Suppliers and Manufacturers Association) involves the safe use of mobile access towers. Each type of equipment is different and requires exclusive training, Kentec Training provides certified PASMA and IPAF Training Courses. PASMA Training PASMA course is aimed at individuals requiring skills and knowledge to safely operate mobile access towers also known as mobile scaffold towers. These towers provide a stable platform for tasks performed at height, without requiring electricity. Several different configurations are available for mobile access towers including podium towers, stairway access towers and scaffold towers. According to Working at Height Regulations, only trained personnel can assemble or supervise the mobile access tower to ensure the safety of your workers or anyone around at your worksite. When you need to assemble your mobile access tower, you will require the staff to do so. Even, when you don’t need to assemble the tower, your staff still have to work with the equipment and need to undergo PASMA training to ensure everyone’s safety. IPAF Training IPAF Course is designed for anyone who uses powered access or mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) such as cherry pickers, scissor lifts, and boom lifts. Most often, these equipment are powered either by electricity or diesel. The IPAF Training by Kentec empowers you to operate these machines with confidence and ensure the safety of everyone involved. Undergoing PASMA or IPAF training, each has its own significance and helps you gain comprehensive knowledge, skills and understand best practices and minimise risks when working with mobile access towers, powered access or mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs). Kentec Training is globally recognised for providing accredited IPAF and PASMA training courses, conducted by leading experts in the industry. https://lnkd.in/gJt3txCX

What is the problem with Ofsted Inspections? I created a poll and directly messaged training providers. The poll showed that 80% of independent training providers had to adjust their operational practices to some extent during the Ofsted inspection visit I’ve heard about various disruptions caused by the differing locations of learners and the nature of face-to-face learning, whether it’s in the same location or online. For many providers, it takes the full 48 hours’ notice to arrange the schedule. I’ve heard of remote training providers having to rent rooms for the inspection teams, and for smaller providers, securing space for the inspection team is a real challenge. Ensuring that learners and employers are willing to take calls from inspectors is also a challenge. Many learners do not answer calls from unknown numbers, even if they are informed of the call’s date and time. If the inspector calls late, which can happen, all the arrangements fall apart. One recurring theme in the LinkedIn direct messages was that the issue wasn’t meeting the framework criteria, but rather the attitude of the inspectors involved in the process I will be examining the different levels of stress experienced by both the nominee and the rest of the staff. Despite the new ‘Big Listen’ project, the varying attitudes of the inspectors have continued to cause significant issues for the staff. Watch out for the poll
