🌿👥💼 Recruiting in the cannabis industry? A path less trodden, but a goldmine of opportunities. Here's a bold claim: Cannabis is not a niche. It's a burgeoning industry, ripe for the picking. But wait! It's not all sunshine and rainbows. The challenges? They're real and they're unique. Legal nuances. Regulatory hoops. A talent pool that's more like a puddle. But, here's the twist: These challenges? They're not barriers. They're filters. They separate the committed from the curious. The pioneers from the followers. What's the secret to successful recruiting in this space? Embrace ambiguity. Welcome the unknown. Seek those who are not just skilled, but adaptable. Remember: in a nascent industry, experience is not a prerequisite; curiosity is. So, if you're navigating the cannabis recruiting maze, don't look for the exit. Instead, build your own path. And remember, every challenge is a chance to innovate. 🎯🚀🌿 #recruiting #staffing #cannabiscommunity

Too often, cannabis businesses hire for talent, not character. Forget strategy. Your talent gets you on the stage, but your character keeps you on it. Is your team dependable? People need to be able to count on you. Hiring needs more character focus.

Ok cannabis? What do you ACTUALLY want from me? I'm sitting here laughing as I get turned down for Sales Account Manager roles with 10 years in transferrable sales and service experience and more cannabis industry contacts (that I actually use too) than the hiring managers. This is getting laughable at this point. I happily, repeatedly, demonstrate more knowledge than the people who bother to interview me. But I don't know enough people or have enough knowledge about cannabis to do these jobs? It's absolutely maddening. I've built a 5,000+ strong social media base in 15 months, but don't know enough about marketing myself? Opening a cannabis facing business isn't really possible unless you're not entirely honest about what you're hoping to accomplish (oh no, I would never dream of doing anything with that devils lettuce!) If you want to eat, good luck doing it unless you do open your own business (and thats only if you're really lucky), or sell out to the MSOs that are causing more problems in the industry than they solve. I get that this industry is a labor of love, I do. But how the hell do you manage to keep a roof above your head? How the hell DO new employees break in anywhere but entry level? Am I too autistic to understand this, or does it make no sense to anyone else either?
