According to a 2023 Harvard University Report, over 50% of child trafficking victims worldwide are recruited by family and friends. One in five victims of human trafficking are children exploited for child labor, pornography, and begging. There are numerous circumstances that contribute to youth involvement. Emotional or financial distress, familial exploitation, homelessness, manipulative third parties, and more can be found at the root of these statistics and of many children's experiences. #NationalHumanTraffickingPreventionMonth

Survivors of gun violence often step in to fill gaps due to systemic issues in policy and funding allocation. While there is growing recognition of the need to support survivors, several challenges remain: 1. Inadequate Federal Funding: Despite significant legislative efforts, federal funding often fails to reach those most in need due to bureaucratic hurdles and the complexity of grant application processes. 2. Policy Gaps : Current policies may not fully address the multifaceted needs of survivors, including long-term mental health support, financial assistance, and community-based interventions. 3. Community Engagement : Effective policy change necessitates deep engagement with those directly affected by gun violence.
