Dear connections, I am writing to share some key takeaways from the recent panel discussion titled "Opportunities in Globalization from an HR Perspective" that we had the privilege of attending yesterday. The session was highly informative and offered valuable insights from seasoned professionals in the HR domain.. The discussion focused on the impact of globalization on HR practices and the opportunities it presents for businesses. The panelists, Harish Vilvamani, Sheeja Thomas, and Ramesh Srinivasan engaged in a thought-provoking conversation with our Principal, Ranjith Kumar Arumugaraj. Here are some of the important points that were brought up during the discussion: 1. Globalization has made it easier for businesses to operate on a global scale by providing easier access to technology. 2. Global compensation and global competence are essential factors in attracting and retaining talented individuals in a globalized workforce. 3. Talent and skills have become more significant than geographic location in determining job opportunities. 4. The demand for talent drives job creation, irrespective of location. The HRPA - Human Resources Professionals Association has announced the appointment of Sachi Kittur interim People and Culture Advisor. Kittur, who brings over 20 years of experience in building workplace cultures within Canada’s tech industry, will serve in the role for six months while HRPA continues its search for a full-time leader. “Sachi envisions HRPA as a vibrant, inclusive ‘mosaic’ culture that celebrates the diverse voices and strengths of every team member — a place where everyone feels valued, heard, and empowered to make a meaningful impact,” said HRPA CEO Jodi Kovitz in a LinkedIn post. The appointment also marks Kittur’s return to HRPA after delivering a session at the HRPA Summit last November, where her approach to culture-building resonated with participants.
