By boycotting government elections, the Iranian people have demonstrated to the world, through peaceful civil disobedience, that they reject this regime. They have shown that the Islamic government and its leader, Khamenei, lack social support and political legitimacy. In this latest presidential election farce, the actual voter turnout was 13% in the first round and below 10%—around 5%—in the second round.
