True collaboration thrives on the principle of equality, where no one's ideas or passions are deemed inherently superior or inferior. In seeking collaborators, I'm drawn to those who recognize the value in combining our diverse strengths, not those who measure worth by duration within our diverse community or credentials. I've lived 44 years as both a human and an autistic individual; each year has shaped my insights equally. Please presume competence! Let's dismantle the barriers that gatekeep valuable perspectives. Embracing a wide range of autistic expertise and creativity doesn't just add to our community—it transforms it. Let us move beyond restrictive hierarchies to foster a rich tapestry of contributions that propel us all forward, embodying a metamodern ethos of inclusivity and innovation. #hierarchiesareallistic

From the desk of Dr. Gerilyn Davis: Happy Wednesday! I hope you feel deeply connected today. When addressing our current state, our ability to reflect on where we once were and where we are now can remind us of what we are capable of. In Phase Three: Opportunity Planning of the SWORD Inclusion System, we leverage how far we’ve come to plan where we are going. --- RECONDITION OURSELVES: We expand our capability by planning inclusive discussions within operations, strategy, marketing, and financial efforts. --- STRATEGIC INCLUSION: We frame inclusion as a strategic advantage that allows everyone to feel vested in company objectives. --- END WITH THE FOCUS: While we start each day with the strategic focus in mind, we also end with the strategic focus. According to the Economist, 61% of organizations struggle to bridge the gap between their strategy and day-to-day efforts. I would say inclusion as a strategic advantage is the missing link. Enjoy the day! #joyofinclusion #inclusionexpansion #inclusionincludesyoutoo #InclusionontheSlopes #SWORDInclusionSystem #PhaseThreeOpportunityPlanning

From the desk of Dr. Gerilyn Davis: Happy Thursday! I hope your week is meeting expectations. I see more and more the value of resetting expectations when we are inclusive. In Phase Four: Review Weekly of the SWORD Inclusion System, we make a point to reset our expectations as we take action according to our planning. Here are some examples of what that looks like. --- PEOPLE ARE HUMAN: We embrace the human experience and recognize that we often can only do what our capabilities and capacity allow. --- START WITH WHAT WE HAVE: To expand our human resources, we start with what we have and build upon it. --- PIVOT ACCORDINGLY: We pivot accordingly to ensure we can build the foundation to sustain our inclusive efforts. Inclusion prompts us to be grounded in our ability to evolve, change, and expand. We become more because of it. Not less. Isn’t that what life is about? Enjoy the day! #joyofinclusion #inclusionexpansion #inclusionincludesyoutoo #InclusionontheSlopes #SWORDInclusionSystem #PhaseFourReviewWeekly

Whatever Happened to ED&I? 🤔 Truth Director, Dr Mark Thorpe has written a brilliant article in Research Live, explaining why #Equality, #Diversity, and #Inclusion (ED&I) will not simply take care of itself, and that change requires greater collective responsibility (and participation) from the sector. 💬 He tells us, 'Being visible in the ED&I narrative was not just the right thing to do; it was the essential thing to do… As I see it, a big part of the problem is the (implicit) belief that the quest for diversity and equality is now well on its way to achieving the intended results. Support has been given, gains have been made, and we move on. ED&I is also less shiny than it once was (and much less shiny than generative AI).' Really good Linkedin Audio Event hosted by Dr Heidi Green! Excellent comment made by another amazing colleague Chloe Stephenson about othering. It is essential to reframe our perspectives and approaches. Are we unconsciously ostracising the people we intend to serve by deeming them "underserved"? Are we unconsciously creating a narrative of one group vis-à-vis another rather than one of unity and inclusivity? We must ensure that our support does not create invisible boundaries. We must be mindful of the design paradox by which plans made in the spirit of inclusion do not set constraints on boundaries. Our language, actions, and intentions should lead only toward the ultimate goal of unity and equality. Perhaps such engagements are a reminder: to keep probing, to keep exploring our approaches. The road to inclusivity is an infinite journey. We should remain open, remain aware, and keep looking for a path—that truly is 'inclusive.' So, let's keep the dialogue open and keep striving for true inclusivity in clinical trials and beyond. #HealthEquity #ClinicalTrialDiversity

On this solemn #Juneteenth, the Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation (MCWT) team reminds stakeholders that strengthening #DEI principles is vital. Leaders must orient around a broader goal: creating the culture and conditions for all employees to flourish. Harvard Business Review provides great insight: https://lnkd.in/etwe4hwg? #diversity, #womenleaders, #womenintech
