Today is American Eagle Day🦅! The Chesapeake Bay supports three populations of bald eagles! As an estuary, the Bay is a mix of freshwater and saltwater 🌊, meaning it has various fish species for bald eagles to enjoy. The James River is a hotspot for bald eagles because of their forested shorelines. Decreasing the amount of pollution in the Chesapeake Bay helps to protect Bald Eagles. This includes not illegally discharging into waterways and safely disposing of medicines 💊instead of flushing them down the toilet.

I see bald eagles every day I’m at the James River plant. Great indicator of clean waterways indeed.
