I visited the @museumofaviation in Warner Robbins, Georgia and came across this beauty on display!🤩 I was so excited because an a learning designer, I know the importance of simulation to #Learning. It's a B-52 Electronic Warfare Simulator that was used to train aircrew members so that they experience the real-life realm of flying the B-52. Simulation-based Learning is best for businesses because it; 1. Motivates learners 2. Equips them with skills 3. Develops desired behaviors. It also improves competencies, performance, productivity and quality of work, and also results in higher learning retention rates than traditional training methods. Forward-thinking companies are turning to simulation learning to achieve more effective training, and to save time and cost. Employees will also be much better equipped for their roles and this will all have an impact on the ROI for the business. Simulation learning reduces both training costs and the cost of employee mistakes for the business. There is no risk of accidents or errors and no down-time while employees are being trained on real equipment or software. In many lab settings, having automated triggering is essential to optimize workflow. Ballistics applications can benefit from Image-Based Auto-Trigger (IBAT), an innovative feature that lets high-speed experts trigger their camera automatically by the motion detected during a live recording. The following videos — courtesy of a Phantom T3610 camera operating at 86,000 fps (1024 x 352) — demonstrate the power of the IBAT feature. This data was collected by students at our recent Phantom Academy High-Speed Imaging Ballistics and Range course at the Royal Dutch Navy. Here’s how IBAT works: Users select a rectangular area within the image. As the imaging system captures each frame, it compares the current image in the Auto-Trigger region to the reference image. The results of this comparison determine if the system activates the trigger. Our Compact Agile Simulation Equipment (CASE) for joint terminal attack controllers is ruggedised for deployed operations but is still highly portable and can be ‘hand carried’ by the operators. CASE JTAC uses mixed-reality (MR) technology which removes the need for expensive static domes without losing necessary levels of immersion or field of view.
