As we continue to reflect on the International Day of Education 2025, a clear path forward emerges: African governments must prioritise proven, cost-efficient pedagogical approaches. Structured Pedagogy and Teaching at the Right Level (TARL) have effectively improved learning outcomes. When combined with supportive technology and innovation, these approaches can transform education systems at scale. The African Union's End Learning Poverty Campaign and the commitment of 13 countries to end learning poverty by 2035 show growing momentum. Now is the time to create an enabling environment for innovation while staying grounded in what works.

Innovation is the heartbeat of educational reform, and it’s exciting to see strides being made to improve outcomes for students and teachers alike. A recent reform is the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) announcing a groundbreaking initiative allowing candidates to resit their West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) papers. In previous years, if a student failed an important subject like mathematics or english language, they would have to wait the entire year, pay for the examination fee, and take all the 9 papers allover again. Although this is not available to Nigerian candidates yet as reported by Guardian Newspaper; https://lnkd.in/dN-7S_D4 it is an example of how innovation in education can directly impact learners, while offering solutions that prioritize their growth and the future of the Nation Personally, I am thrilled about this approach, and positive about the ways that it would help students and reduce the load on teachers and examiners. What other reforms do you think could drive significant change in our education systems? Let’s discuss it! ______________________________________________ Hello, my name is Madonna Badom, and I am passionate about Education and SRHR. Let's shape the future together.

Life like the riding a bicycle🙏📄 Education is a complex system with many interconnected subsystems in terms of students, syllabus, schools, staff, salaries, civil society, #curriculum experts, authors, practitioners, researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders. So that any decision taken on one component at one level of education brings change to other components and subsystems. Therefore, any interconnectedness requires policymakers and decision-makers to ensure that coherent and consistent education policies and strategic frameworks are in place from a sectoral and system perspective. Emerging challenges such as rapid digitalization, increasing inequality, and disruptions caused by climate change, pandemics, and conflicts demand that countries develop resilient and sustainable policies and strategies on which to build efficient, relevant, and transformative education systems. Finally, we need the best leadership and educationists in order to embellish a realistic platform in order to improve the quality of education for both individuals and the whole nation in our societies. I thank everyone who read it

On paper, we have until 2030 to achieve the targets of the Sustainable Development Goal 4- Ensure INCLUSIVE and EQUITABLE quality education and promote LIFELONG LEARNING opportunities for all. With the grim statistics of out-of-school children, the constant disproportionate cuts to education budgets at both national and global levels, poor remuneration of teachers, the impact of COVID-19 on education systems, there is a high chance that the 2030 ambition may be unrealistic. Governments and relevant global institutions should no longer politicise investment in education as it is not a privilege, but a fundamental human right. #Education

EDUCATION BYPASS IS TREND OR BRAND? The current trend in education is deeply concerning. The education system, influenced and shaped by various business models, has turned into a brand rather than a genuine institution of learning. The system clings to outdated and obsolete subjects, reducing valuable resources to mere formalities. It remains completely disconnected from the needs and demands of modern industries. While education itself is a divine treasure, the system surrounding it has become nothing more than a well-organized business model. Instead of fostering curiosity, creativity, and free thinking, the education system produces millions of dull and unthinking minds, stifling intellectual growth. It subtly misguides the nation, as practical opportunities and resources lie far beyond its reach. The system relies on impractical and limited resources, leaving students with restricted thinking capabilities. After 16 years of formal education, the ability to think critically and innovatively is often diminished. #EducationSystem #EducationReform #OutdatedEducation #IndustrialNeeds #EducationalCrisis #SystematicReform #CuriosityKilled #EducationalLeadership #PakistaniEducation #CriticalThinking #EducationMatters #ReformEducation #SupremeCourtPakistan #PrivateSchoolAssociation #EducationManagement #PresidentOfPakistan #PrimeMinisterPakistan #SindhChiefMinister #GovernorSindh #ChiefJusticePakistan #PEC #PMC #HEC
