Therapists also have experience being clients in therapy. So, we wanted to find out from our associate therapists: What is one takeaway moment that you’d like to share from your own experience as a client in therapy? Their responses offer a profound look into the transformative power of therapy, whether it’s learning to care for oneself, reconnecting with the body, or embracing vulnerability. Each of these moments highlights how therapy continues to inspire and shape even those who are trained to guide others. Here are some of the most powerful reflections our therapists shared from their personal experiences. https://lnkd.in/gWgDAJH8

Clinical Psychologist & Clinical Supervisor | ACT Practitioner | NTA NET and M.Phil Entrance Tutor | Faculty at WBSU | PhD Scholar, CU
An often overlooked skill in therapy is the pre-therapy contact with prospective clients. When potential clients reach out via call, message, or WhatsApp to inquire about therapy sessions, our interaction with them is crucial. How we conduct ourselves during these initial conversations reflects our qualities as therapists. It's essential to be kind, understanding, and responsive to their questions and queries, as they may not know what to expect from therapy. Our non-judgmental stance should begin from this first point of contact, as it sets the tone for creating the safe space we emphasize in therapy.

Counseling Psychologist | Writer | Podcaster | Therapist for Therapists. Transforming "neurotic misery into ordinary unhappiness" since 2019.
Misconceptions about therapy are in abundance. And part of the work we do in therapy, as therapists, is clarifying what therapy can and cannot do for you. Therapy will not make you happy, but it can “drastically increase the depth and authenticity of your happiness.” If you want to try therapy but you are not yet ready to fully commit for the long haul, try out the Single Session Therapy Consultation that lasts for 90 minutes. After that, you can decide whether to stay in therapy or not. You will work with a licensed therapist who is fully committed to helping you build a life you like! Book your session here: (https://lnkd.in/eSSN_xew)

How many of us lack self-esteem and self-worth because we do not feel good enough. How many of us look in the mirror and do not recognise our beauty. How many of us recognise that comparing ourselves to others only serves to increase our anxiety about ourselves and trick us into thinking we are not good enough. it's important to tell yourself you are enough and you have had enough of feeling less than. Group therapy and individual therapy can help to unpick this. #selfcompassion#cbt#therapy#cbthelps#Manchester therapist#therapymatters#selfesteem#stressmanagement#corporatestress#bodyimage#cbt# https://lnkd.in/eVJ6CXBF
