In my opinion, some of the behind-the-scenes magicians in the #cannabis industry are the team members responsible for assortment planning. This team ensures our stores have the right assortment, in the right locations, at the right time to meet the needs of patients and customers. For many retailers, the "right inventory, right place, right time" equation is often the difference between maximizing sales and missing opportunities. In the cannabis industry, this role is still evolving, and many businesses are still figuring out the best ways to implement an assortment architecture, a localized product mix, and an appropriate inventory allocation strategy. One of my passions, and a key focus in my discussions with tech leaders throughout the industry, is refining the assortment planning process to better meet market demand and enhance customer experiences. Surf's Up Store managers have a ton of responsibilities Freight processing, merchandising, store flips, price changes, BOPIS, fulfillment, credit card promos, rewards programs, daily huddles, daily sales trackers, weekly recaps, monthly 1:1, marketing changes, signage, scheduling, RTV's And we haven't even gotten to the HR and LP functions Hiring, interviews, no shows, admin functions, attendance issues, disengaged employees Did I mention customers?
