INVESTING IN SUSTAINABILITY IS CRUCIAL🌱 In Northern Europe, sustainability is an integrated part of our lifestyle, and in Cruise Baltic, it is simply at the core of everything we do. Every year, we create an annual Sustainability Report highlighting some of the many sustainable initiatives from our dedicated partner ports and destinations. Some initiatives are simple, and some are more comprehensive to implement, but most importantly, they all contribute to our joint goal of making cruising a sustainable vacation offer in 2030. "We must always rethink how things are done and how we act. We are proud to be front-runners and inspire the industry to take small and big steps in the right direction towards #responsiblecruising,” says Klaus Bondam, Director of Cruise Baltic. What are the three key takeaways from the report? 💚 The destinations in Cruise Baltic have a strong focus on extending the season by making the region attractive all year round. 💚 Our partners are actively working to increase local economic value by enhancing port-city infrastructure, promoting local shopping, and educating locals to better cater to cruise guests, etc. 💚 Implementing onshore power supply is a strong commitment to the partners of Cruise Baltic, and even though it can be an extensive process, we are moving in the right direction. Learn much more about our partner's specific initiatives through the link below. But please be aware that you might get heavily inspired... 😉 https://lnkd.in/deKMqUVD

We'll be 10 this year. Having rebranded and pivoted to focus on live events just prior to the pandemic, there was occasion (several) when I questioned the future of YST. 4 years on, this relatively modest but nonetheless significant step forward is testament to what can be achieved when, faced with seemingly impossible challenges, we hold our collective nerve. Climate change, the risk of future pandemics, and live events are inherently interlinked, but human behaviour should not and need not cost us the earth. Therein lies the challenge ahead! Thanks to the brilliant team at You. Smart. Thing., to our investors and stakeholders, live events are now are better placed to rise to that challenge, balancing economic sustainability with environmental, social, and governance best practice.
Thank you to everyone who supported our recent scale-up round and for your investment in the idea that attending live events shouldn't cost the earth 🌍: Midven, Future Planet Capital, Giles Fearnley, Dale Vince & Rolf Stein at Ecotricity, William Phillipson, Jeremy Acklam, Maithili Mehta, Simon Grieve, Huw Sparkes, Rupert Lyle, Nick Young and Nigel at BY-Consulting, Emma Douglas-Beet, Chris Speakman and John Hesketh MSc. at Innovate UK Edge, Jon Foley, and Patrick Barth https://lnkd.in/gx5ZBrsT
