🎅 CHRISTMAS IN OCTOBER? CRUISE BALTIC SUMMIT IN HELSINKI ❄️   The last couple of days were well spent in quietly wonderful Helsinki with all our partners from the Baltic Sea as well as 16 cruise line representatives. The summit was packed with engaging presentations and workshops. Highlights included an eye-opening talk from the John Nurminen Foundation (John Nurmisen Säätiö) on the state of the Baltic Sea and inspiring best practice sessions from Cruise Finland, Cruise Denmark - Copenhagen and beyond, and cruise skagen. Jon Olav Stedje from MSC Cruises shared their commitment to sustainability, emphasizing the importance of open communication with local communities about mutual offerings and goals 🪸 We also collaborated on creating measurable KPIs for our joint sustainability manifesto, culminating in an enlightening presentation by Tylean Tucker, CRME from Princess Cruises on the American market 🌎 We celebrated Cruise Baltic’s 20 years anniversary and had a festive dinner at Allas SeaPool with Port of Helsinki’s house band, complete with a Christmas theme and a special appearance from Santa 😮🎅 On the first night, brave souls took a dip in the sea and enjoyed a traditional Finnish Sauna experience! 🏊♀️ Helsinki is a true year-round destination! 🚢🌿 A huge thank you to everyone who made this summit a success, especially our partners in Helsinki Partners, Port of Helsinki Ltd and Helsingin kaupunki – Helsingfors stad – City of Helsinki 🤝 #CBSUMMIT #cruisebaltic #yearroundcruising

💚HELSINKI – NATURE, SUSTAINABILITY AND A REFRESHING DIP 🌊   After an early 3:30 AM wake-up in Gdansk due to flight cancellations, we finally arrived in Helsinki to enjoy its mild autumn sunshine (reminding us of the long summer nights of the Nordic countries where the sun only unwillingly goes to bed) ☀️ This vibrant city proves that the Baltic Sea is a year-round destination, even as winter approaches ❄️   Sustainability is visible everywhere, including vintage second-hand design shops wherever you look - even in the airport! (Probably the only airport in the world with a second-hand shop!). It is obvious why Helsinki has just been rewarded with a number 1 rating in the Global Sustainability Index ✅   Our FAM trip included a mini-cruise through the stunning archipelago, highlighting the city’s Russian Imperial heritage - Helsinki stands as a modern European capital, celebrated for its design, art, and lively culture. We experienced the city via the unique ‘bar tram’ and embraced the quintessential Finnish tradition of sauna followed by a refreshing dip in our Baltic Sea 🩵   As we conclude this enriching FAM trip, we hope to have inspired participants to make more calls to our region in the future. With 32 partner ports in Cruise Baltic, there’s ample opportunity for you, and they can’t wait to welcome you!   Thank you to our hosts Minna Ermala from Helsingin kaupunki – Helsingfors stad – City of Helsinki and Antti Lumiainen from Helsinki Partners, Staffan Teromaa, Jukka Haarni and Kaj (Tico) Takolander from Port of Helsinki Ltd 🤝 And a huge thank you to all our engaging participants for your valuable participation: Katja Feierabend, AIDA Cruises Matthew Agg, Ambassador Cruise Line Shandra Stoeterau, Azamara Cruises Stephanie Male, Carnival UK (P&O Cruises & Cunard) Stepfanie Wolff, Disney Cruise Line Cristina Mesquida, MSC Cruises Madalina Mereu Serra, Mystic Cruises Charlotte Krantz, PONANT Bobbie Jo Barker, Princess Cruises Kyle Dunst, Princess Cruises Tylean Tucker, CRME, Princess Cruises Neil Cron, Saga Cruises Susanna Capaccio, Silversea Cruises Michelle Toledo, Virgin Voyages Holly Payne, Seatrade Cruise A last thank you goes to Men Gorleku and SAS - Scandinavian Airlines for flying our guests in ✈️ #BalticFamTrip #UncoverOurSecrets #CruiseToHelsinki

🥟 DUMPLINGS AND DISCOVERIES: GDAŃSK - WHERE HISTORY MEETS FLAVOUR! 🏢 Our Baltic adventure continued in the beautiful city of Gdańsk, Poland! We began our day with a visit to the cruise berth at Westerplatte hearing about the ongoing developments for the future, including installations of shore power. Next up was the Harbour Tower, where we enjoyed a lovely coffee while taking in the stunning views 🏙️ Our guided tour of Gdańsk's enchanting Old Town was a real treat, revealing the city’s rich history and beautiful architecture. We were all astonished with the enormous efforts the people of Gdańsk have put into restoring their city after the devastating destructions of WW2 🙏🏼 A highlight was our hands-on experience making traditional Polish pierogi (dumplings). We rolled up our sleeves to cook and taste, yum yum! 😋 Afterwards, we immersed ourselves in the history of the Solidarity movement at the European Solidarity Centre, gaining a deeper understanding of its impact on Poland and the rest of Europe and the world. We wrapped up the day on the 32nd floor of Olivia Star, enjoying breathtaking views over the entire region. We hope our guests found our time in Gdańsk as enlightening and delicious as we did! 😀 A huge thank you to our fantastic hosts Michal Stupak from Port of Gdansk Authority and Baltic Gateway Group PS/ We ended up staying an extra night in Gdańsk, due to a cancelled flight. This is one of the things that happens once in a while when you travel, but spirit is high and we are now heading for Helsinki to end our FAM-trip✈️ #CruisetoGdansk #Cruisebalticfamtrip #UncoverOurSecrets

🌊UNCOVERING SKAGEN: AT THE VERY TOP OF DENMARK 🌿 Our FAM Trip continued in the enchanting town of Skagen, where The North Sea and The Baltic Sea collide 🪸   We began with a dinner at Skagen Fiskerestaurant - with its sand covered floor and live music - savouring the freshest fish. The next morning, we visited the Port of Skagen close to the city centre, touring the cruise piers and welcome facilities. Next, we enjoyed a panoramic drive to Denmark’s northernmost point Grenen, experiencing the one-of-a-kind sandworm tractor bus. We saw the two seas meet and seals swimming in the sea!🦈   We continued to Skagen Bunker Museum, diving into the fascinating story of the 8,000 WWII bunkers along the west coast. Next, we headed to Skagen’s Art Museum. The region is famous for its stunning natural light, which has attracted artists for over a century and caused the formation of a group of artists called the Skagen painters, known for capturing the beauty of the landscape and local life 🎨   We then enjoyed tasty local seafood at Vin, Sprit & Deli Centralen - a must for foodies! The afternoon included a visit to the fascinating church buried partly by sand and Raabjerg Mile, which is the largest migrating sand dune in Northern Europe.   Skagen is an active cruise port with a growing number of calls, but at the same time, it is Denmark's biggest fishing harbour and a popular seaside spot for Danes themselves. All in all, a place that offers a wide range of experiences for cruise guests ⚓ Thank you to our lovely hosts Karen Christine Steenberg, Anne Sofie Rønne Jensen, Willy Bent Hansen and Line Hardis Olesen from Cruise Skagen / Skagen Havn - Port of Skagen for a beautifully orchestrated adventure!   #CruiseBalticFamTrip #CruiseToSkagen #UncoverOurSecrets
