Increased the organic visits by 300% for a B2B SaaS WITHOUT publishing new pages. 5-Step process (so you can implement the same) 👇 Website background: — Domain rating: 39 (a/c to Ahrefs) — Niche: Legal (B2B SaaS, United States) — Indexed pages: Around 190 pages — Almost 90% of our SEO effort goes into updating existing pages — Brand presence: The brand has a good presence in the US (~400 brand name searches/m) How we started this SEO project: Initial observation: The articles were written by a knowledgeable writer who knows the ins and outs of the product and customer demand. However, the content lacked SEO optimization. This includes: 1. Not targeting the right keywords 2. On-page issues 3. Content depth and heading structure Step 1. Audit existing content inventory We started with auditing the last 6 months' content by tracking pages with declined traffic. Step 2. Audit intent Chances are the pages lost traffic due to the intent shift. So, we checked for the keywords. Step 3. Keyword cannibalization There are multiple articles on almost the same topic- which can be covered in one detailed article. Step 4. Created content briefs for each existing page With new content briefs custom content guidelines and SOPs, we re-written all the high-priority pages. NOTE: Since we didn't have the bandwidth to update all pages at once, we started with topics with high business value. Step 5. On-page and internal linking Our team worked on the internal links. We also used Link Whisper to scale internal links which worked greatly. Now, here we are at this stage (From 100 clicks/month to 400+ clicks/month). Note: Also, we fixed all the technical issues on the site and implemented custom schema markup. Note: We don't track the success of SEO projects by traffic growth. However, the goal of sharing this SEO case study is to help you understand that: SEO doesn't always have to be complicated. How We Achieved a 228% Growth in Organic Traffic for an SAAS Martech Client Every business wants to dominate search rankings, but few succeed. For our SAAS (Software As A Service) marketing tech client, the journey to better visibility began with a clear, strategic approach. Despite having a robust service offering, their online presence was not translating into visibility and traffic growth. First, the results.. Here’s what happened within 3 months: - Organic traffic increased by 228.01%. - Keyword positions improved across the board - Keywords in positions 1-3 increased by 56.63%, moving the site to prime visibility spots. - Positions 4-10 saw an 80.55% growth, showing a substantial leap from lower-ranking spots. - Even positions 11-20 improved by 10.13%, further solidifying the client’s visibility on the first page of search results. - Significant increase in the number of conversions, resulting in higher revenue growth for the client. The Strategy We began our SEO campaign on June 1, 2024, with a comprehensive audit of the client’s existing content and keyword strategy. Here’s what we did: - Sweet spot analysis to identify the low-hanging fruit – identifying the existing high keywords. - Keyword optimisation: We focused on optimising existing content and identifying high-impact keywords relevant to the client's services. By refining keyword strategies, we targeted the most valuable search terms to boost visibility in search engine results. - Content refresh and expansion: Layered outdated content with new and searcher-friendly information. Expanded existing pages to include more comprehensive, intent-rich information. - Created topical clusters: To target an entire range of keywords and their semantic variables. - Optimised internal linking: This helped to enhance the site’s architecture, thereby creating proper contextually charged signals to/from the right content to boost the authority of these pages. - Technical SEO enhancements: Tackled technical SEO issues such as page speed, mobile responsiveness, and proper indexing to ensure that the website was primed for search engine crawlers. The gains in this case study demonstrate that thoughtful, data-informed SEO practices can have a significant impact.
