This is also a reflection of what we're seeing in the in-house market. Salaries being 20% higher, in my opinion, is not only because of Saudization. Yes, it's a large part for the 70% of Saudi nationals that can command higher salaries due to supply and demand, but it's also combined with expats demanding more because of an increased cost of living and challenges with finding housing and schools in Riyadh in particular. I believe salaries will continue to grow again in Q4 / Q1 2025, as firms and businesses struggle to attract top local and international talent. https://lnkd.in/dxtJV7Mr #InHouseLegal #Saudization #TalentAcquisition #SalaryTrends #LegalMarketInsights

I am happy to share with you that in the last week of April 24' I got an opportunity to draft an Employment Contract for a Corporate House. My responsibility was to draft a contract, incorporating the following details of the client. (a) The umbrella organisation has one LLP firm and one LLC business firm. (b)Now the challenge before me was, I have to draft a single contract which would work for both the companies. (c) The LLP house is based in India and the LLC house is based in Sharjah,UAE. (d) The agreement includes clauses for the Employees of LLP company and engagement of Independent Contractors for LLC business firm based in U.A.E. I have successfully completed the project within the stipulated time frame considering mainly the following points - 1. Legal Research and analysis- I have performed Legal research and analysis on relevant acts and rules. 2. Legal writing and communication - Drafted a clear, concise and persuasive legal agreement. 3. Jurisdiction : I have incorporated the relevant jurisdiction clause to ensure the legal enforceability of the contract. 4. I have included all the requirements and terms and conditions of the client under separate clauses. 5. I have included separate Annexures for different purposes like- Salary structure, terms and conditions of the employment, Independent Contractors and other benefits. 6.Also mentioned the Legal Dispute resolution method as per requirement of the client. The project would not have been possible without the guidance of Komal Shah Ma'am Rajnandini Choudhary , Alfiya Khan from LawSikho . I also want to extend my gratitude to Ramanuj Mukherjee Sir, @Amruta Kulkarni ma'am for believing in my ability and giving me the opportunity to learn and grow. #legal #legalfreelancing #contractdrafting #legaldrafting #commercialcontractdrafting.

An in-depth report conducted by a major legal platform earlier this year provided some interesting insight into the dynamic of the Middle East market. It is pretty evident that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is undergoing exciting growth and that many law firms, as a result, are setting up shop there. However, that said, 60% of lawyers at the largest firms in the Middle East reside in Dubai. This is indeed a ringing endorsement of Dubai's positioning as a global hub, which further underlines the potency of the Emirate's financial centre, status as a travel hub, and leisure possibilities. Behind Dubai, the second most-popular spot in the UAE is Abu Dhabi, with 12%, giving the UAE almost three-quarters, confirming the popularity of the country in the MENA/GCC region. Over the course of the next few years, the above dynamic might start to change as the KSA starts to gain more global prominence in the legal market, but as things stand, lawyers would still rather prefer to reside in the UAE, notably Dubai. One thing is for certain, there is plenty of opportunity for lawyers seeking to build a career in this part of the world. (Largely) excellent weather, tax-free income, nature of the work on offer and a high (base-level) quality of life all ensures for this, and things will only get bigger and better over the years. If you are a lawyer seeking to understand more about the market, please get in touch for a (confidential) discussion.
