VENTREX has joined the Allianz Wasserstoffmotor e. V. (Hydrogen Engine Alliance), which aims to bring together experts from industry and research, and share knowledge about the use of hydrogen in mobility. This association, whose founding members include some of our most important partners such as Bosch, Daimler Truck AG and MAHLE, shares our conviction that hydrogen technology will play a key role as we leave the fossil fuel era behind, with hydrogen-powered engines massively contributing to a future shaped by carbon-neutral mobility. Patrick Pfeifer, Managing Director and CSO of VENTREX, believes that VENTREX will be instrumental to the alliance and looks forward to cooperating with the other members: “VENTREX is known for its electronic pressure regulator for natural gas engines. We started to look into the H2 combustion engine at an early stage because it has very similar requirements for rail pressure control in the injection system. We were able to adapt our development and production expertise gained from supplying more than 850.000 electronic CNG pressure regulators to a new, exciting application and consider ourselves well positioned for future projects. As a member of the Allianz Wasserstoffmotor and in joint dialogue with our partners, we want to contribute to creating a future emission-free mobility." NEW PARTNERSHIP TO DEVELOP HIGH-EFFICIENCY HYDROGEN TECH DENSO and JERA Co., Inc. are to jointly develop high-efficiency hydrogen generation technology that combines a solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC) with an electrolyzing power of 200 kW with waste heat utilization. Joint demonstration testing is set to commence at a JERA thermal power station in 2025, and if successful the collaboration aims to scale the technology to a multi-thousand kW capacity by integrating several SOECs. I really like Daimler's strategy of sending one H2 truck to a different customer to try out. I think this is the best way to obtain customer feedback and yes, it may set you back financially but the lessons you can learn are invaluable. Seeing is believing so it's one thing to consider H2 trucks on paper, and another one to actually drive one and explore whether it can fit your daily operations.
