Because of this, professionals may provide steps to reduce the risk of cognitive decline for their patients. 💡 Whilst some individual high-quality studies demonstrate positive results for some conditions, our descriptive synthesis of the collective findings does not provide support for spinal manipulation or mobilisation in paediatric populations for any condition. Increased reporting of adverse events is required to determine true risks. 👉🏻 This is from the paper "Spinal manipulation and mobilisation in the treatment of infants, children, and adolescents: a systematic scoping review" by Milne et al 2022 📚 Do you struggle to stay on top of new research? 😫 You're not alone! ✅ Physio Network’s Research Reviews make it easy for you to keep up to date and provide better care for your patients. Primary care, lifestyle medicine, shared medical appointments (SMAs), and clinical innovation to improve health and prevent disease
July was another busy month for publications on #SharedMedicalAppointments, ranging from pilot programming to larger trials on patients with #Diabetes and #HeartFailure. It's so impressive to see that the quality of research on SMAs is clearly improving, with more randomized trials: * "Cluster Randomized Trial of Diabetes Group Visits in Community Health Centers across the Midwest" (Arshiya Baig, MD, MPH, FACP et al.) * "Shared Medical Appointments in Heart Failure for Post Acute Care Follow-Up: A Randomized Controlled Trial" (Tracey Taveira et al.) * "Introducing Virtual Shared Medical Appointments as a Novel Treatment Platform for Functional Movement Disorders" (Saar Anis et al.) * "What works in implementing shared medical appointments for patients with diabetes in primary care to enhance reach: a qualitative comparative analysis from the Invested in Diabetes study" (Holtrop et al.)
