I took some time over the Labor Day weekend to reflect about our team as a whole, and came away very proud of the continued importance that Wurkwel continues to place on culture and employee development as we further our growth. In today’s world, building a strong, values-driven culture isn't just an option—it is truly essential. As we seek to expand our teams within the Wurkwel portfolio (Rightsize Facility, Office Furniture Center - Chicago, MAC Relocations, FurnitureFinders), we remain focused in our commitment to nurturing a work environment where every individual feels valued, inspired, and empowered to make a difference. In every step of our journey, we anchor our growth on key values that define who we are and how we operate. These traits, as presented below, are truly more than just words—they are the principles that guide our actions and decisions every day: ✅ Integrity: Trust and transparency guide our decisions and interactions, creating a solid foundation for lasting relationships with our clients, partners, and team members. ✅ Innovation: Our passion for innovation fuels our drive to constantly seek out new opportunities and improvements. We encourage creativity and forward-thinking, always striving to exceed expectations. ✅ Sustainability: We’re deeply committed to a planet-first approach, embedding sustainable practices into everything we do—from eco-friendly decommissioning to our Ecodrive partnership. ✅ Collaboration: We believe that the best results come from working together. By embracing diverse perspectives and fostering teamwork, we achieve more and create a lasting impact. ✅ Community: Our sense of community extends beyond our walls, reaching our clients, partners, and the world around us. Through our charitable initiatives and strong personal connections, we aim to give back and uplift those around us. As we grow, these values remain at the heart of our journey, guiding us to be not only a successful business but also a great place to work. Feel free to reach out to learn more and join us as we continue to build a culture that supports growth, innovation, and positive change—one project at a time. #CompanyCulture #GrowthMindset #TeamBuilding #Innovation #Sustainability #Wurkwel

Which came first, TGIF or TGI Fridays? With #TCOP moving downtown soon, I’m looking forward to the new activity it will bring, including revealing new third places for us to connect!🤝 Ever heard of a #thirdplace? I only learned the term a year or so ago, but it is the place where people spend their time outside of home (first place) and work (second place). Sociologist Ray Oldenburg coined the term and describes third places as the spaces where we exchange ideas, have a good time, and build relationships. On TV it's the Central Perk couch on Friends, or the place where everybody knows your name (Cheers). I’m a millennial, so my third places always seem to revolve around coffee.☕ Coffee Culture at UF, Spaddy’s Coffee Co. at USF, Distant Worlds Coffeehouse or Cafe Solstice in Seattle. Nowadays you can find me at Kahwa, Buddy Brew, or the upstairs break room on campus, grabbing a quick espresso with a dash of salted caramel syrup. These are places where I get to run into a familiar face and catch-up from our last run-in, or meet someone new and connect over our favorite ways to drink coffee, before going back to work or making the journey home for the day. As a member of the Office of Student Affairs, I wonder about which places our #FuturePharmacists will choose as their weekly meet-up spot after a difficult exam or where they will pass the time while waiting out a Tampa afternoon rainstorm.⛈ So, where are your third places? And where do you think there is opportunity to build third places downtown? Send me a message here if you’re interested in connecting & let’s start brainstorming together! #GoBulls 🤘💚💛 #FutureOfPharmacy⚕ Image from the article: Third Places. 🧺 The Problem Solving Picnic Before the retreat, each attendee submitted a problem they needed to solve with advice from the group. Things like… -Growing business internationally -Hiring a team member -Creating a new brand -Refining a niche -Exploring different event careers -Setting rates and prices The picnic basket was full of everyone’s problems. We pulled problems out of the basket and split into three groups, used a timer, and each attendee had the undivided attention of their group for feedback, ideas, advice for ten minutes and took turns giving and receiving. People wrote down the good ideas they heard and put them back into the basket. They were consolidated and distributed to everyone to benefit from the collective brainpower and give everyone a chance to pitch in on groups they weren’t a part of. The basket of problems 👉🏼 the basket of ideas Collaboration, problem solving, inspiration, big picture thinking, friendship in business and life…This is what our retreats are all about! 'Random Coffees' 🤔 What are they? Did you actually go on one - this photo looks somewhat edited 😅 Today, I got to have a Random Coffee with my colleague Mike Davies. We took 30 minutes away from the office to talk. We spoke mostly about running - Mike knows lots and I had a load of questions (Fartlek? 'Kenyan Hills'? Marginal gains? The six World Marathon Majors?) - and our time as Employee Trustees at Stephens Scown having served our terms at different times in our Employee Ownership journey. I forgot to take a photo because the conversation was so good, so Mike was happy to pose in the office instead 📷 Being able to step away from the office environment to get to know our colleagues more personally (and professionally but with less of a service delivery focus) is so beneficial to our ongoing professional relationship. We're all humans, and being to engage with someone on a human level, not just on a service-provision level, helps us to build trust with them and feel more personally fulfilled through the work we do together. I think Random Coffees are a great initiative from my business. In the last few months I've also had them with Karen Stamp, Isabella Kershaw and Kia Pearson 👋 Do others get similar opportunities encouraged by their businesses? What is your version of our Random Coffee? 🤔 #Teamwork #Culture #EmployeeOwnership

The Recipe for a Great Work Culture 🍽️🌞 As summer progresses, there's something irresistible about dining out in restaurants. Perhaps it's the warm weather that draws us out, making us crave a good 'ole meal under the open sky. The other night, I had the pleasure of experiencing just that with my family at The Pitmaster Show—an incredible evening where food and entertainment blend perfectly. What struck us most wasn't just the next-level food but the staff. They were incredibly nice, professional, and radiated an infectious energy of loving what they do. That’s when it hit me: This is what it means to have a great work culture. So, what is culture, really? According to Google, "Culture is a concept that encompasses the social behavior, institutions, and norms found in human societies, as well as the knowledge, beliefs, arts, laws, customs, capabilities, and habits of the individuals in these groups." Not all cultures fit everyone. It’s up to each individual to embrace the culture and harmonize with it. It was clear to me that The Pitmaster Show had crafted a phenomenal work culture. Every team member was a crucial part of the vibrant community they had created. Here’s a message to candidates and companies alike: A solid work culture is a cornerstone of your success and will resonate with your customers. Organizations must curate their culture thoughtfully, but it’s equally important for candidates and employees to embrace that culture to thrive fully. #WorkCulture #TeamSpirit #SummerVibes #RecruitmentInsights #EmployeeEngagement ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ AB Hires and Consulting ➡ Like, Comment, Share, and Follow

Two years on and the magic fairy dust is still there - Natalie “Do you believe in magic fairy dust that makes a business sparkle” were the words that first interested me in becoming a PEA at Peas in a Pod Consulting. From day one, it felt like stepping into a supportive company where integrity, empowerment, friendliness alongside communication and accountability thrives. The enthusiasm from all my fellow PEAs practically bounces off the walls! On my first day, I remember the warm welcome extended by Kay, Rebecca and Beth. Getting to select my office slippers set the tone for what has become two years of great memories. Rebecca and Kay embody visionary leadership, steering us all toward excellence with unwavering dedication and a profound commitment to our collective success. However, what truly sets the Company apart is its people - colleagues who have become more than just coworkers; they are mentors, collaborators, and friends. Together, we've weathered challenges, celebrated victories, and forged bonds that extend far beyond the boundaries of our professional environment. The infectious spirit and friendship that fills every nook and cranny of the POD makes working there a great experience. (And let's not forget the constant supply of brownies that sweeten the deal!) As I ponder over the last couple of years, I can't help but feel like someone entrusted a squirrel with a nut stash - deeply appreciative for the trust placed in me to add some zest to our collective goals! Whether it's brainstorming sessions that spark creativity, project deadlines that foster resilience, or team outings that foster camaraderie, every moment spent with the PEAs family has been a testament to the power of collaboration and the beauty of shared purpose. Looking ahead, I am excited about the limitless possibilities that lie on the horizon. With our collective talents, I am confident that we will continue to surpass expectations, break barriers, and redefine success. I look forward to the exciting experiences that lie ahead of us in the future. Here's to celebrating two years of awesomeness, and to many more achievements yet to come! #WorkAnniversary #2Years #fairydust #HRConsultancy
