Has anybody ever told you that every single thing you do is content? When you get stuck and don't know what to post, here's a very easy cheat code. "Your actions, movement, lifestyle, daily activities, etc make great content and even viral ones too." During a conversation about content writing and ideation, an acquaintance dropped those words in quotes as a suggestion. With the present realities on social media, do you also agree that everything a person does should make headlines or hooks? Drop a sentence or two or more about what you think in the comment section.

Do Kenyans Prefer Stupid Content?? I saw an interesting comment on one of Wangari Stewart's videos, that should form a great discussion. I've shared it below. What are your thoughts on the perception that the Kenyan audience isn't attracted to well-produced and quality content in terms of the conversations that are being heard online, I tend to agree that yes, a majority of Kenyans prefer Political content, bloggers, and socialites rumor-mongering and highly sexualized content. However, I believe this isn't by design. As humans, we are a product of our environment, and most Kenyans, who are not on LinkedIn are constantly surrounded by the negative rhetoric that forms this "stupid content". They do not have the luxury or time to consume great information. Further in a tough environment, people are constantly looking for that dopamine hit to make their day. More often than not the algorithms also favor content that is controversial and triggering and for the most part, well-thought-out content doesn't fall within this category. It would be interesting to know people's thoughts on this and what can be done to improve it.

Here's the thing: people go to social media to unwind, not do business. So how do you turn their relaxation mode into tangible business outcomes, without making your content sound like a sales robot? Focus on these three elements to transform the way you approach content creation: 1. Content length - Craft concise messages that pack a punch without the unnecessary fluff. 2. Message complexity - Lighten the reader's cognitive load. Say what you want them to know; don't assume they'll figure it out on the go. 3. Readability - Keep it smooth — avoid the bumps of big words and never-ending sentences that drive your audience away. Remember, boosting conversions on social media isn't just about writing more, it's about writing smarter.

Social media content is both an art and a science. If you’re a content creator or a social media marketer, you probably feel like an artist sometimes and a scientist other times. But here’s the secret: You probably lean more into one. Is one better than the other? Let’s examine this. -Who is more analytical? An artist or a scientist? -Who is generally better at making decisions? An artist or a scientist? -And who is better at delaying gratification? An artist or scientist? When you think about it like this, it is understandable why the most successful people on socials think like scientists.

“Consistency is the key” is a horrible advice. Have you seen accounts with 100+ posts but less than 100 followers? I have. And a lot. They posted regularly for months. Without missing any days. So why did they not grow? Because it’s about quality more than quantity. Of course, being consistent has it’s own rewards. But don’t post just for the sake of posting! Take time to actually think about your content. Make sure it’s not the same thing that your target audience sees everyday. Be different. Be extra. Post valuable content even if you have to reduce your posting frequency.

STOP commenting on all posts! If you're commenting only to get seen, then you're hurting your rep! A lot of comments I see are generic: 🔹 'Cool' 🔹 'Great!' 🔹 'Thank you' 🔹 'Wow, you're amazing' 🔹 'I agree with' (somebody did that to me lol) Do this instead 🔹 Read the post 2-3 times, then share your thoughts. 🔹 Show your personality. Fun+info comments are the best! 🔹 comment on posts with less engagements (they're likely to reciprocate by engaging on your content)

Everyone says to write with your ideal audience in mind. But I actually write with someone else in mind… Me. Well, at first. See, intent matters. But on social? Your unique experiences/takes must shine through. So, to start: I think about what I’ve learned recently. A revelation I’ve had. A tactic I keep returning to. Ideas I’m pondering. Once I’ve nailed a topic, I think about you. If I share it, will you learn an important lesson? Have a much needed aha moment? Overcome a sticking point? Take action in a meaningful way? If the answer is yes, I proceed. If not, I shelve it. This creates the perfect blend of me + you content. I’m not writing you a Wikipedia style post you can learn from anywhere else. I’m writing you an experience based post I know will resonate with you (the you I have in mind). This is the way forward for social media. People want to see you in every post you write. The first rule of content... First, do no harm.    Don't create content that pleases the algorithm but leaves your audience more confused. You're cheating your audience, which doesn't strike me as a great way to build trust and make sales.    You can't, of course, answer every question in one post. But try not to leave people in a spin.

I skip many content without commenting. Let me explain why 👇 Some posts are not easy to comment on. Value is not enough to get comments. You are probably thinking: • My content is not good • I'm not engaging enough • My topics don't resonate You may be right. But wait a second... Ever checked if it is easy to comment? Often times this is the issue. I asked myself: "Why would people comment on this?" And started to fix my content. Here is what you should do: • Use questions • LeverageSpecific CTAs • Simple language - always • Give only 1 message with your post A small fix can improve your performance. Share one fix you'll make on your next post. PS: Won't get you 1000 followers in a week

Re-sharing other peoples' content isn't helping you In fact, it could be the reason your posts aren't reaching many people Whenever I start working with someone new, we have a similar discussion: 🗣️ Them: "I've been sharing some posts here and there, but find it hard to write my own" 🗣️ Me: "What do you feel the purpose is of sharing the posts?" 🗣️ Them: "To be keeping my account active, I suppose?" Here's a few things to remember: -> You're sharing someone else's view, not your own -> Sharing someone's content boosts their engagement, not yours -> You're on LinkedIn to build your name, which requires your own content -> Your audience follow you to see your content, not someone else's -> Sharing other people's content doesn't get your name out there The next time a post inspires you to share: Stop yourself, and ask how you could write something about this topic yourself. Tell your audience your opinion And if relevant, tag the original poster It's the only way you'll build a relationship with your audience.
